RESUMEN

On the basis of 35 experiments on dogs and clinical experience in operations on the lungs and pleura in 11 patients with the use of a plasma stream and special miniature nozzles the authors revealed the following: reliable hemostasis and aerostasis in cutting pulmonary tissue and pleura; tissue wounds inflicted by a stream of plasma are sterile; the zone of coagulation necrosis is no larger than 1 mm; healing occurs predominantly according to the type of aseptic productive inflammation with growth of connective tissue into the thermal crust. The operation in all patients was successful, no complications developed. The design of the BCBY-160 plasma apparatus should be improved to make it more compact, to reduce its size.

RESUMEN

Two methods of microphotography using microprojector MPTY 42-2216-63 without using microphoto heads are proposed. In the first method, a mirror camera without objective is introduced perpendicularly to the luminous flux going from the microprojector ocular to the vertical screen. Exposure time is determined with any photoelectric exposure meter. Photographs are obtained by projection printing. In the second method, microprojector is set for demonstration of the image on a horizontal screen. Instead of the latter, a photoframe with a negative photographic plate is used. Photographs are produced by contact printing. The exposure time is determined in this method as mentioned above.

RESUMEN

A method of embedding into paraffin under vacuum is proposed. Pieces of tissues are placed into a glass jar containing melted paraffin from which the air is pumped out. The jar is permanently placed into TC-80 thermostate. The air-removing hose is placed inside the thermostate through the opening in its upper wall meant for the control thermometer. The air is pumped out by any vacuum pump with electric drive. The proposed method is simple, provides for a good saturation with paraffin, shortens the time of tissue contact with melted paraffin, and gives thin sections of good quality.

RESUMEN

It is suggested that a photoexposure meter "Photon-1" (TU-4-72) be used for the determination of exposure in microphotography. The photoelement of the apparatus is overlaid on the eyepiece of the photo device. The regulator of the apparatus is set in a position corresponding to the film sensitivity. The exposure meter shows exposure time in seconds.
