RESUMEN

As a highly toxic aldehyde, acrolein is widely found in diet and environment, and can be produced endogenously, posing a serious threat to human health. Herein, we designed a novel fluorescent nanoplatform integrating carbon dots­manganese dioxide (CDs-MnO2) and glutathione (GSH) for all-in-one sensing and removal of acrolein. By converting Mn4+ to free Mn2+, GSH inhibited the inner filter effect (IFE) of MnO2 nanosheets, and the Michael addition of acrolein with GSH inhibited the GSH-induced Mn4+ conversion, forming an "off-on-off" fluorescence response of CDs. The developed fluorescent nanoplatform exhibited high sensitivity (LOD was 0.067 µM) and selectivity for the simultaneous detection and removal of acrolein. The combination of CDs-MnO2 hydrogels with smartphones realized the point-of-care detection of acrolein, yielding satisfactory results (recovery rates varied between 97.01-104.65%, and RSD ranged from 1.42 to 4.16%). Moreover, the capability of the nanoplatform was investigated for on-site evaluating acrolein scavengers' efficacy, demonstrating excellent potential for practical application.

RESUMEN

Five unprecedented chromone derivatives involving a 6/6/5/5/5/6 hexacyclic scaffold (1, 2), 6/6/5/6/6/6/6 heptacyclic scaffold (3), and 6/6/6/5/5/6 hexacyclic scaffold (4, 5) were obtained from the fungus Aspergillus deflectus NCC0415. Their structures were identified using comprehensive spectroscopic analysis, single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and electronic circular dichroism calculations. Except for 3, the other compounds, especially the 6/6/6/5/5/6 hexacyclic derivatives (4 and 5), exhibited potent inosine-5'-monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH) inhibitory activities.

RESUMEN

With the aim of finding more potential inhibitors against NADH-fumarate reductase (specific target for treating helminthiasis and cancer) from natural resources, Talaromyces wortmannii was treated with the epigenome regulatory agent suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid, which resulted in the isolation of four new wortmannilactones derivatives (wortmannilactones I-L, 1-4). The structures of these new compounds were elucidated based on IR, HRESIMS and NMR spectroscopic data analyses. These four new compounds showed potent inhibitory activity against NADH-fumarate reductase with the IC50 values ranging from 0.84 to 1.35µM.

RESUMEN

Three novel members of angucycline family named N05WA963A (1), B (2) and D (4), together with a new anthracycline named N05WA963C (3) were isolated from the culture broth of Streptomyces sp. N05WA963. The structures were elucidated on the basis of comprehensive spectral data analysis. All four compounds have shown antiproliferative effects on a panel of cancer cell lines such as SW620, K-562, MDA-MB-231, YES-4, T-98 and U251SP.
