RESUMEN

Background: The success of hair transplantation surgeries for androgenetic alopecia is evaluated by postoperative long-term outcomes. Patients' self-management during the long recovery period affects this outcome. Objective: This study aimed to explore patients' self-management status, facilitators, and impediments in the postoperative period and to provide a reference for developing a postoperative self-management intervention program. Methods: Patients who underwent hair transplantation for androgenetic alopecia were selected using purposive sampling. They were interviewed using one-to-one semi-structured interviews at a general tertiary hospital in Hangzhou from March to April 2022. Qualitative research analysis software Nvivo 12.0 was used to analyze the collected data. Results: The self-management of postoperative patients with androgenetic alopecia during the recovery period encompasses six areas: more problems with postoperative medication (e.g., not being able to take medication on time) and wound care (e.g., not daring to shampoo, etc.), not being able to review their postoperative condition on time (due to busy schedules at work and at home), more hindrances to the establishment of good living habits (affected by overtime work, socialising, and bad habits of the people around them), and seeking positive ways of relieving bad emotions (stress, anxiety, depression, etc.), worrying about one's image during recovery and taking the initiative to obtain and use resources to promote recovery (through the Internet, books, etc.). Conclusions: Various factors impact the postoperative self-management abilities of patients, including medication, shampooing, and emotions. It is essential to design support programs to enhance these abilities and improve long-term hair transplantation outcomes.

RESUMEN

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of nonsurgical methods in early postnatal correction of congenital auricle malformation. Methods:The clinical trials regarding non-surgical treatment for congenital ear deformity published before May 2021 were searched in databases of Cochrane Library, PubMed, Medline, CNKI, VIP and Wanfang. The information of included studies was extracted. The Meta-analysis was performed by using RevMan 5.3 software. Results:A total of 15 trials were included, involving 1 349 patients. The Meta-analysis results showed that the effect of the group <6 weeks was better than the group over 6 weeks ( OR=4.67, 95% CI: 3.21, 6.78, Z=8.09, P<0.001); The complications incidence of the group < 6 weeks was lower than the group over 6 weeks ( OR=0.27, 95% CI: 0.08, 0.88, Z=2.18, P=0.03); The correction time required of the group <6 weeks was shorter than the group over 6 weeks ( MD=-11.81, 95% CI: -18.36, -5.26, Z=3.54, P=0.001). Conclusions:Non-surgical correction of congenital ear malformation within 6 weeks after birth has better efficacy and safety.

RESUMEN

To introduce a case of nasal sound after alar base reduction. The patient was an 78-year-old female who came to the Hangzhou’s First Hospital(Nanjing Medical University Affiliated Hangzhou Hospital)because of the conscious feeling of nasal fat hypertrophy. The diagnosis was nasal atrophy, and nasal sounds were produced after the alarization was reduced while the wound heals good. The symptoms were not significantly improved after 6 months of follow-up, suggesting that there is a possibility of nasal noise after nasal augmentation. Therefore, when performing the alar reduction, attention should be paid not only to the nasal shape, but also to the nasal function.

RESUMEN

Objective To explore the clinical effect of using small needle knife in autologous fat grafting for the treatment of atrophic scar. Methods Twelve patients with atrophic scar were included in this study during March 2014 and December 2016 in the Hangzhou First People's Hospital,Zhejiang University School of Medicine. We used small needle knife during fat grafting to treat the atrophic scar.Observer Scar Assessment Scale (POSAS) was used to assess the clinical effect of the patients. Results Aesthetic and functional improvements were observed.Resolution of pain and increases in scar elasticity were objectively assessable.Improvement of both clinical evaluation and patient perception was obtained. Conclusions Use of small needle knife during fat grafting is a good alternative for the treatment of atrophic scars.

RESUMEN

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of follicular unit extraction (FUE) in the repair of scarring eyebrow loss. Methods A total of 30 patients with scarring eyebrow loss were treated with FUE technique in the Department of Plastic Surgery of Zhengzhou First People's Hospital, including 18 females and 12 males with 41 eyebrow defects.Fine soft hairs with a length of 5-10 mm were extracted from the back of the ear and temporal region of the patients, and then were split into individual follicular units under a microscope at 6 × magnification. The transplant density ranged from 20 to 30 FU/cm2.Results During the 3-18 months of follow-up after the surgery, eyebrows in the recipient areas grew in a natural direction and showed good appearance. The survival rate of hair grafts was up to 90%,and the patients were satisfied with the results. Conclusion FUE may be an ideal method for the treatment of scarring eyebrow loss with less injury and high survival rate of hair grafts.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVETo investigate the therapeutic effect of soft tissue expansion combined with follicular unit extraction( FUE) for burn cicatricial bald.

METHODS48 patients with burn cicatricial bald (> 25 cm2) were treated in three stages. The expanders were implanted on the first stage. After expansion for 8 weeks, the expanders were taken out and local flaps were transferred. One year later, follicular unit extraction( FUE) was applied on the bald area.

RESULTS48 cases were followed up for 5 years with satisfactory cosmetic results. The VAS assessment of satisfaction on hair appearance after three-staged surgery was 8.2 ± 2.1.

CONCLUSIONSSoft tissue expansion combined with FUE has a reliable effect for burn cicatricial bald.

RESUMEN

Objective To investigate the effect of long cotton branch instead of cotton ball in postoperative oral nursing of patients in the department of neurosurgery. Methods All 72 cases of coma from January 2013 to January 2014 were used long cotton branches in postoperative oral nursing (observation group),72 cases of coma from December 2011 to December 2011 were used cotton ball in postoperative oral nursing (control group), the effect of nursing care, oral cavity cleaning degree, nurse fatigue degree score and complication were compared. Results The nursing efficient, oral cavity cleaning degree and nurse fatigue degree score of the observation group was significantly better than the control group(P<0.05);the complication rates of the observation group was significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Use long cotton branch instead of cotton ball in postoperative oral nursing of patients in the department of neurosurgery, could get more significant clinical effect and lower complication rates.

RESUMEN

Objective To study a simple, safe and effective way in correction of prominent mandibular angle. Methods Curved osteotomy was employed for prominent mandibular angle through intra and extra oral approach with a small incision in 20 cases.Partial masseter resection was performed simutaneously in 5 cases with masseter hypertrophy, buccal fat pads were resected in 3 cases with broad faces, and genioplasty were performed in 3 cases with micrognathia. Nine cases only suffering from prominent mandibular angle were underwent curved osteotomy reconstruction. Results A series of 20 cases was followed up from six months to six years, in which 95 % was satisfactory. Conclusion The advantages of this method are simple, safe and symmetric with better result. It is easy to dissect under periosteum and perform curved osteotomy with less complication, quick recovery, and better contouring.
