RESUMEN

Multiple resonance (MR) boron-nitrogen doped polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (BN-PAHs) showed compelling thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF), surpassing those of their hydrocarbon analogs. However, the structural variety of π-extended BN-PAHs remains narrow. In this study, we synthesized three double helical BN-doped nanographenes (BN-NGs), 2a-2c, via the π-extension of the MR core. During the formation of 2a, a nanographene with one heptagon (1a) was obtained, whereas subsequent dehydrocyclization of the [6]helicene units within 2b-2c led to heptagon structures, yielding other two BN-NGs containing double heptagons (1b-1c). These BN-NGs (2a-2c and 1a-1c) showed pronounced redshifts of 100-190 nm compared to the parent MR core while preserving the TADF characteristics and prolonging the delayed fluorescence lifetime to the millisecond level. Furthermore, the integration of heptagon ring into 1a-1c expanded the conjugation, reduced the oxidation potentials, and yielded a more flexible framework compared to those of 2a-2c. The enantiomers of 2a-2c, 1a, and 1c were resolved and their chiroptical properties were studied. Notably, 1a and 1c exhibited the increased chiroptical dissymmetry factors.

Pure metal nanowires (NWs) are one-dimensional nanomaterials with distinctive properties for various applications. Nevertheless, mass-growth forests have not been developed because of vapor pressure limitations, chemical reduction problems, or both. We succeeded in the mass growth of aluminum (Al) NW forests at desired locations by controlling atomic diffusion within the solid film. Whereas prior attention has focused only on how to increase the driving force, we show that focused ion beam irradiation created localized regions of high stress, which provided pathways for atomic diffusion as well as nuclei and driving forces for vertical NW growth. The underlying growth process could in principle be extended to other metals.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic inflammatory disease caused by autoantibodies. Serum samples from patients with SLE (n = 10) were compared with those from normal controls (NCs, n = 5) using 21K protein chip analysis to identify a biomarker for SLE, revealing 63 SLE-specific autoantibodies. The anti-chaperonin-containing t-complex polypeptide-1 (TCP1) antibody exhibited higher expression in patients with SLE than in NCs. To validate the specificity of the anti-TCP1 antibody in SLE, dot blot analysis was conducted using sera from patients with SLE (n = 100), rheumatoid arthritis (RA; n = 25), Behçet's disease (BD; n = 28), and systemic sclerosis (SSc; n = 30) and NCs (n = 50). The results confirmed the detection of anti-TCP1 antibodies in 79 of 100 patients with SLE, with substantially elevated expression compared to both NCs and patients with other autoimmune diseases. We performed an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay to determine the relative amounts of anti-TCP1 antibodies; markedly elevated anti-TCP1 antibody levels were detected in the sera of patients with SLE (50.1 ± 17.3 arbitrary unit (AU), n = 251) compared to those in NCs (33.9 ± 9.3 AU), RA (35 ± 8.7 AU), BD (37.5 ± 11.6 AU), and SSc (43 ± 11.9 AU). These data suggest that the anti-TCP1 antibody is a potential diagnostic biomarker for SLE.

Measuring greenhouse gas (GHG) fluxes and pools in ecosystems are becoming increasingly common in ecological studies due to their relevance to climate change. With it, the need for analytical platforms adaptable to measuring different pools and fluxes within research groups also grows. This study aims to develop a procedure to use portable optical spectroscopy-based gas analyzers, originally designed and marketed for gas flux measurements, to measure GHG concentrations in aqueous samples. The protocol involves the traditional headspace equilibration technique followed by the injection of a headspace gas subsample into a chamber connected through a closed loop to the inlet and outlet ports of the gas analyzer. The chamber is fabricated from a generic mason jar and simple laboratory supplies, and it is an ideal solution for samples that may require pre-injection dilution. Methane concentrations measured with the chamber are tightly correlated (r2 > 0.98) with concentrations determined separately through gas chromatography-flame ionization detection (GC-FID) on subsamples from the same vials. The procedure is particularly relevant for field studies in remote areas where chromatography equipment and supplies are not readily available, offering a practical, cheaper, and more efficient solution for measuring methane and other dissolved greenhouse gas concentrations in aquatic systems.

Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disorder primarily targeting joints, significantly impacting patients' quality of life. The introduction of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) inhibitors has markedly improved RA management by reducing inflammation. However, these medications are associated with adverse skin reactions, which can vary greatly among patients due to genetic differences. Objectives: This study aimed to identify risk factors associated with skin adverse events by TNF-α in RA patients. Methods: A cohort study was conducted, encompassing patients with RA who were prescribed TNF-α inhibitors. This study utilized machine learning algorithms to analyze genetic data and identify markers associated with skin-related adverse events. Various machine learning algorithms were employed to predict skin and subcutaneous tissue-related outcomes, leading to the development of a risk-scoring system. Multivariable logistic regression analysis identified independent risk factors for skin and subcutaneous tissue-related complications. Results: After adjusting for covariates, individuals with the TT genotype of rs12551103, A allele carriers of rs13265933, and C allele carriers of rs73210737 exhibited approximately 20-, 14-, and 10-fold higher incidences of skin adverse events, respectively, compared to those with the C allele, GG genotype, and TT genotype. The machine learning algorithms used for risk prediction showed excellent performance. The risk of skin adverse events among patients receiving TNF-α inhibitors varied based on the risk score: 0 points, 0.6%; 2 points, 3.6%; 3 points, 8.5%; 4 points, 18.9%; 5 points, 36.7%; 6 points, 59.2%; 8 points, 90.0%; 9 points, 95.7%; and 10 points, 98.2%. Conclusions: These findings, emerging from this preliminary study, lay the groundwork for personalized intervention strategies to prevent TNF-α inhibitor-associated skin adverse events. This approach has the potential to improve patient outcomes by minimizing the risk of adverse effects while optimizing therapeutic efficacy.

In this study, soy protein isolate (SPI) films incorporating quercetin-grafted dialdehyde starch (DAS-QR) and DAS/QR, respectively, were developed. The structural, physical, and functional properties of the composite films were determined. The results suggested that DAS-QR and DAS/QR formed hydrogen bonding with the SPI matrix, which improved the structural properties of the films. The light-blocking capacity, thermal stability, hydrophobicity, tensile strength, elongation at break, and antioxidant and antibacterial abilities of SPI films were improved by DAS-QR and DAS/QR. Notably, SPI films incorporated with DAS-QR exhibited better performance than those with DAS/QR in terms of antioxidant (SPI/DAS-QR: 79.8% of DPPH and 62.1% of ABTS scavenging activity; SPI/DAS/QR: 71.4% of DPPH and 56.0% of ABTS scavenging activity) and antibacterial abilities against S. aureus (inhibition rate: 92.7% for SPI/DAS-QR, 83.4% for SPI/DAS/QR). The composite coating film SPI/DAS-QR effectively maintained appearance quality, delayed the loss of weight and total soluble solids, postponed malondialdehyde accumulation, and decreased peroxidase activity and microbial contamination in fresh-cut potatoes. These good performances highlight SPI/DAS-QR as a promising active packaging material for fresh-cut product preservation.

OBJECTIVE: We aimed to assess the performance of common pneumonia severity scores, such as pneumonia severity index (PSI), CURB-65, CRB-65, A-DROP, and SMART-COP, in predicting adverse outcomes in elderly community-acquired pneumonia cohort and to determine the optimal scoring system for specific outcomes of interest. METHODS: A total of 822 elderly inpatients were included in the retrospective cohort study. Clinical and laboratory results on admission were used to calculate the above scores. The primary outcome was 30-day mortality. Secondary outcomes were in-hospital mortality, need for mechanical ventilation (MV) and ICU admission. Model discrimination was evaluated by the area under receiver operating characteristic curves (AUCs). RESULTS: The 30-day and in-hospital mortality rates were 6.8% (56/822) and 8.6% (71/822), respectively. One hundred and ninety-eight (24.0%) received MV and 111 (13.5%) were admitted to the ICU. All five scoring systems showed the same trend of increasing rates of each adverse outcome with increasing risk groups (all p < 0.001). PSI had the highest AUC, sensitivity, and negative predictive value (NPV) in predicting 30-day mortality and in-hospital mortality. SMART-COP had the highest AUC for predicting the need for MV and ICU admission, but PSI had the highest sensitivity and NPV for these two outcomes. DISCUSSION: PSI performed well in identifying elderly patients at risk for 30-day mortality and its high NPV is helpful in excluding patients who are not at risk. Considering their effectiveness and simplicity, SMART-COP and CURB-65 are easier to perform in clinical practice than PSI.

Microstructural changes in conductive materials induced by electric current treatments, such as electromigration and electroplasticity, are critical in semiconductor and metal processing. However, owing to the inevitable thermal effect (Joule heating), the athermal effect on microstructural modifications remains obscure. This paper presents an approach of utilizing pre-micromachined structures, which obstruct current flow but maintain a thermal history similar to that of the matrix, effectively disentangling the thermal and athermal effects. A duplex stainless-steel material is selected to validate the feasibility of this method. Microstructural characterizations show that the athermal effect, especially the electron wind force (EWF), primarily governs the element diffusion and phase transformation in this study. Moreover, many σ phases (Cr-enriched) are precipitated in the micromachined structures, whereas no precipitation occurred in the matrix, suggesting that the directional EWF disrupts the Cr aggregation caused by Joule heating. Furthermore, we present a critical formula for determining the dimensions of micromachined structures of commonly used metallic materials. The proposed method may serve as an effective and powerful tool for unveiling the athermal effect on microstructural alterations.

One previously undescribed triterpene glycoside (1) and two known compounds were isolated from the leaves of Cyclocarya paliurus (2-3). Their structures were elucidated based on methods of spectroscopic analysis and NMR data comparison with those in the literature. Compound 1 showed a moderate inhibitory effect on melanogenesis with an IC50 value of 282.3 µM, with the positive drug arbutin showing an IC50 value of 168.5 µM.

Introduction: This study aimed to demonstrate the potential of activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule (ALCAM), hemopexin (HPX), and peroxiredoxin 6 (PRDX6) as urine biomarkers for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Methods: Urine samples were collected from 138 Korean patients with SLE from the Ajou Lupus Cohort and 39 healthy controls (HC). The concentrations of urine biomarkers were analyzed using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kits specific for ALCAM, HPX, and PRDX6, respectively. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was performed to evaluate the diagnostic utility, and Pearson's correlation analysis was conducted to assess the relationships between the disease activity and urine biomarkers. Results: Patients with SLE and patients with lupus nephritis (LN) showed significantly elevated ALCAM, HPX, and PRDX6 levels compared with HCs. ALCAM, HPX, and PRDX6 showed significant diagnostic values, especially for lupus nephritis (LN), with areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve for LN was 0.850 for ALCAM (95% CI, 0.778-0.921), 0.781 for HPX (95% CI, 0.695-0.867), and 0.714 for PRDX6 (95% CI, 0.617-0.812). Correlation analysis revealed that all proteins were significantly associated with anti-double stranded DNA antibody (ALCAM, r = 0.350, p < 0.001; HPX, r = 0.346, p < 0.001; PRDX6, r = 0.191, p = 0.026) and SLEDAI (ALCAM, r = 0.526, p < 0.001; HPX, r = 0.479, p < 0.001; PRDX6, r = 0.262, p = 0.002). Results from the follow-up of the three biomarker levels in these patients revealed a significant decrease, showing a positive correlation with changes in SLEDAI-2k scores (ALCAM, r = 0.502, p < 0.001; HPX, r = 0.475, p < 0.001; PRDX6, r = 0.245, p = 0.026), indicating their potential as indicators for tracking disease activity. Discussions: Urinary ALCAM, HPX, and PRDX6 levels have diagnostic value and reflect disease activity in Korean patients with SLE, emphasizing their potential for non-invasive monitoring and treatment response evaluation.

This study aimed to investigate the serum and expression levels of C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 9 (CXCL9), CXCL10, CXCL11, and CXC receptor 3 (CXCR3) in minor salivary glands (MSGs) of patients with primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS), and to explore their correlations with clinical parameters. Serum samples from 49 patients diagnosed with pSS, 33 patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and 30 healthy controls (HCs) were collected for measurements of CXCL9, CXCL10, CXCL11, and CXCR3. Additionally, CXCL levels in the MSG tissues were measured in 41 patients who underwent MSG biopsy. Correlations between CXCL and CXCL/CXCR levels in serum/MSG tissues and clinical factors/salivary scintigraphy parameters were analyzed. Serum CXCL11 and CXCR3 showed statistically significant differences among patients with pSS and RA and HCs (serum CXCL11, pSS:RA:HC = 235.6 ± 500.1 pg/mL:90.0 ± 200.3 pg/mL:45.9 ± 53.6 pg/mL; p = 0.041, serum CXCR3, pSS:RA:HC = 3.27 ± 1.32 ng/mL:3.29 ± 1.17 ng/mL:2.00 ± 1.12 ng/mL; p < 0.001). Serum CXCL10 showed a statistically significant difference between pSS (64.5 ± 54.2 pg/mL) and HCs (18.6 ± 18.1 pg/mL, p < 0.001), while serum CXCL9 did not exhibit a significant difference among the groups. Correlation analysis of clinical factors revealed that serum CXCL10 and CXCL11 levels positively correlated with erythrocyte sedimentation rate (r = 0.524, p < 0.001 and r = 0.707, p < 0.001, respectively), total protein (r = 0.375, p = 0.008 and r = 0.535, p < 0.001, respectively), globulin (r = 0.539, p < 0.001 and r = 0.639, p < 0.001, respectively), and European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology SS Disease Activity Index (r = 0.305, p = 0.033 and r = 0.321, p = 0.025). Additionally, serum CXCL10 negatively correlated with the Schirmer test score (r = - 0.354, p = 0.05), while serum CXCL11 positively correlated with the biopsy focus score (r = 0.612, p = 0.02). In the MSG tissue, the percentage of infiltrating CXCL9-positive cells was highest (75.5%), followed by CXCL10 (29.1%) and CXCL11 (27.9%). In the correlation analysis, CXCL11-expressing cells were inversely related to the mean washout percentage on salivary gland scintigraphy (r = - 0.448, p = 0.007). Our study highlights distinct serum and tissue chemokine patterns in pSS, emphasizing CXCL9's potential for early diagnosis. This suggests that CXCL10 and CXCL11 are indicators of disease progression, warranting further investigation into their roles in autoimmune disorders beyond pSS.

Arterial macrophage cholesterol accumulation and impaired cholesterol efflux lead to foam cell formation and the development of atherosclerosis. Modified lipoproteins interact with toll-like receptors (TLR), causing an increased inflammatory response and altered cholesterol homeostasis. We aimed to determine the effects of TLR antagonists on cholesterol efflux and foam cell formation in human macrophages. Stimulated monocytes were treated with TLR antagonists (MIP2), and the cholesterol efflux transporter expression and foam cell formation were analyzed. The administration of MIP2 attenuated the foam cell formation induced by lipopolysaccharides (LPS) and oxidized low-density lipoproteins (ox-LDL) in stimulated THP-1 cells (p < 0.001). The expression of ATP-binding cassette transporters A (ABCA)-1, ABCG-1, scavenger receptor (SR)-B1, liver X receptor (LXR)-α, and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR)-γ mRNA and proteins were increased (p < 0.001) following MIP2 administration. A concentration-dependent decrease in the phosphorylation of p65, p38, and JNK was also observed following MIP2 administration. Moreover, an inhibition of p65 phosphorylation enhanced the expression of ABCA1, ABCG1, SR-B1, and LXR-α. TLR inhibition promoted the cholesterol efflux pathway by increasing the expression of ABCA-1, ABCG-1, and SR-B1, thereby reducing foam cell formation. Our results suggest a potential role of the p65/NF-kB/LXR-α/ABCA1 axis in TLR-mediated cholesterol homeostasis.

To systematically evaluate the effects of quality nursing care on wound pain and anxiety in burn patients. Computerised searches of PubMed, Google Scholar, Cochrane Library, Embase, Wanfang, China Biomedical Literature Database and China National Knowledge Infrastructure databases randomised controlled trials (RCTs) on the application of quality nursing care to burn patients were carried out from database inception to October 2023. Literature was screened and evaluated by two researchers based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, and data were extracted from the final included literature. Stata 17.0 software was employed for data analysis. Overall, 15 RCTs and 1115 burn patients were included, including 563 and 552 in the quality care and routine care groups. It was found that, compared with routine care, burn patients who implemented quality care had significantly less wound pain (SMD: -1.79, 95% CI: -2.22 to -1.36, p < 0.001), anxiety (SMD: -2.71. 95% CI: -3.49 to -1.92, p < 0.001) and depression (SMD: -1.74, 95% CI: -2.35 to -1.14, p < 0.001) levels were significantly reduced post-trauma.

BACKGROUND: Vancomycin-associated acute kidney injury (VA-AKI) is the most clinically relevant side effect of vancomycin. The objective of this study was to investigate the association between VTC and VA-AKI as well as 30-day mortality in critically ill elderly adults. METHOD: Elderly patients with trough serum vancomycin concentration records(VTC) in the Medical Information Mart-IV (MIMIC-IV) and eICU databases were retrospectively studied. RESULTS: A total of 3,146 critically ill elderly adults were finally enrolled. The incidence of VA-AKI in the elderly population was 76.5%. Logistic regression analysis revealed significant relationships between VA-AKI and various factors, including VTC, comorbidities, and laboratory indicators, and SOFA, and GCS score. For each mg/L increase, the OR for VA-AKI increased by 2.5%. The association between VTC and 30-day mortality was found to be statistically significant (odds ratio (OR): 1.021, 95% CI: 1.010-1.031), P < 0.001). The Restricted cubic splines (RCS) curves revealed that VTC ranged of 19.67 to 35.72 mg/l for AKI and 19.17 to 42.86 mg/l for 30-day mortality exhibit OR with 95% CI above 1, indicating statistically significant associations with an increased risk of AKI and 30-day mortality, respectively. In the subgroup analysis, VTC was identified as a risk factor for VA-AKI in specific patient groups, including white individuals, female patients, those with shock, patients with SOFA > 6, patients with baseline creatinine > 1.2 mg/dl and patients with or without exposed to other nephrotoxic medications. CONCLUSION: This study found the significant association between VTC and the incidence of VA-AKI and 30-day mortality in critically ill elderly adults. The RCS curves indicated concentration ranges for AKI (19.67-35.72 mg/L) and 30-day mortality (19.17-42.86 mg/L), signifying increased risk.

The incorporation of pentagon-heptagon pairs into helical nanographenes lacks a facile synthetic route, and the impact of these pairs on chiroptical properties remains unclear. In this study, a method for the stepwise construction of pentagon-heptagon pairs in helical nanographenes by the dehydrogenation of [6]helicene units was developed. Three helical nanographenes containing pentagon-heptagon pairs were synthesized and characterized using this approach. A wide variation in the molecular geometries and photophysical properties of these helical nanographenes was observed, with changes in the helical length of these structures and the introduction of the pentagon-heptagon pairs. The embedded pentagon-heptagon pairs reduced the oxidation potential of the synthesized helical nanographenes. The high isomerization energy barriers enabled the chiral resolution of the helicene enantiomers. Chiroptical investigations revealed remarkably enhanced circularly polarized luminescence and luminescence dissymmetry factors with an increasing number of the pentagon-heptagon pairs.

Although persistent or recurrent COVID-19 infection is well described in some immunosuppressed patient cohort, to date, there have been no reports of this phenomenon in the context of repeatedly negative SARS-CoV-2 testing in the upper respiratory tract. We reported six patients with follicular lymphoma who developed recurrent symptomatic COVID-19 infection. They tested persistently negative for SARS-CoV-2 on pharyngeal swabs and ultimately confirmed by bronchoalveolar lavage fluid metagenomics next-generation sequencing. All six patients presented with lymphopenia and B-cell depletion, and five of them received the anti-cluster of differentiation 20 treatment in the last year. Persistent fever was the most common symptom and bilateral ground-glass opacities were the primary pattern on chest computed tomography. A relatively long course of unnecessary and ineffective antibacterial and/or antifungal treatments was administered until the definitive diagnosis. Persistent fever subsided rapidly with nirmatrelvir/ritonavir treatment. Our case highlighted that recurrent COVID-19 infection should be suspected in immunocompromised patients with persistent fever despite negative pharyngeal swabs, and urgent bronchoalveolar lavage fluid testing is necessary. Treatment with nirmatrelvir/ritonavir appeared to be very effective in these patients.

PURPOSE: We evaluated the preference, patient satisfaction, and efficacy of zoledronic acid compared with oral bisphosphonates (BPs) for glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis (GIOP) in patients with autoimmune diseases. METHODS: We enrolled 50 patients with new fractures or osteoporosis detected on follow-up bone densitometry after at least 1 year of oral BP use among patients diagnosed with GIOP during treatment for autoimmune diseases. After 1 year of zoledronic acid treatment, patients completed a survey for preference and satisfaction assessment. Treatment efficacy was analysed by comparing bone mineral density changes and fractures with those in a control group of patients who continued oral BP use. RESULTS: Age, sex, treatment duration, and medication history did not differ significantly between the two groups. Among the participants, 86.7% preferred and were more satisfied with intravenous zoledronic acid than with oral BPs, primarily because of the convenience of its administration interval. Only two patients (4%) reported infusion-related adverse events with zoledronic acid. Furthermore, no significant differences were observed in the annualized percentage change in the bone mineral density of the lumbar spine, femur neck, and hip between patients receiving zoledronic acid and those receiving oral BPs. The occurrence of new fractures was consistent across both groups, with two cases in each, showing no significant differences. CONCLUSION: Patients showed a preference for and greater satisfaction with zoledronic acid, and its efficacy in treating osteoporosis was comparable to that of oral BPs. Therefore, zoledronic acid is a suitable treatment option for GIOP in patients with autoimmune diseases.

BACKGROUND: Carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (CRPA) infection has become a major public health concern. The recommendations for monotherapy and combination therapy in the current guidelines lack sufficient evidence to support them. The primary objective of this study is to determine the effectiveness of anti-Infective combination therapy compared to monotherapy in achieving clinical success in patients with CRPA infection and risk factors of clinical failure of monotherapy. METHODS: A retrospective study from Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care IV (MIMIC-IV) was conducted. We included adults with infections caused by CRPA. The outcomes of this study were clinical success, complete clinical success, and 28-day all-cause mortality. RESULTS: A total of 279 subjects were finally enrolled. The rate of clinical success for combination therapy was higher than that for monotherapy (73.1% versus 60.4%, p=0.028). Compared to clinical failure patients, patients in the clinical success group were more likely to die within 28 days after CRPA was found (48.3% versus 3.6%, p<0.001). In a multivariate logistic regression analysis, monotherapy was found to be significantly correlated with clinical success (OR, 0.559, 95% CI, 0.321-0.976; p = 0.041). CONCLUSION: Combination therapy is more effective for CRPA infection patients, especially those whose SOFA score is ≥ 2 or whose Charlson comorbidity index is ≥ 6.

BACKGROUND/AIMS: This study aimed to identify the clinical characteristics of patients with concurrent rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and suspected non-tuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) infections as well as determine their prognostic factors. METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 91 patients with RA whose computed tomography (CT) findings suggested NTM infection. Subsequently, we compared the clinical characteristics between patients with and without clinical or radiological exacerbation of NTM-pulmonary disease (PD) and investigated the risk factors for the exacerbation and associated mortality. RESULTS: The mean age of patients with RA and suspected NTM-PD was 65.0 ± 10.2 years. The nodular/bronchiectatic (NB) form of NTM-PD was the predominant radiographic feature (78.0%). During follow-up, 36 patients (41.9%) experienced a radiological or clinical exacerbation of NTM-PD, whereas 12 patients (13.2%) died. Combined interstitial lung disease (ILD), microbiologically confirmed NTM-PD, and NB with the fibrocavitary (FC) form on chest CT were identified as risk factors for the clinical or radiological exacerbation of NTM-PD. Hydroxychloroquine use was identified as a good prognostic factor. Conversely, history of tuberculosis, ILD, smoking, microbiologically confirmed NTM-PD, and NB with the FC form on chest CT were identified as poor prognostic factors for mortality in suspected NTM-PD. CONCLUSION: ILD and NB with the FC form on chest CT were associated with NTM-PD exacerbation and mortality. Hydroxychloroquine use may lower the risk of NTM-PD exacerbation. Therefore, radiographic features and presence of ILD should be considered when predicting the prognosis of patients with RA and suspected NTM-PD.

Objective:To study the distribution of TCM constitutions in maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients.Methods:This is a multicenter cross-sectional study. The general clinical data, dialysis-related parameters and physical and chemical examination data of MHD patients from 6 dialysis centers in Sichuan were collected. At the same time, DS01-A tongue and facial pulse information collection system was used for TCM constitution discrimination.Results:A total of 232 MHD patients were enrolled , and 417 kinds of TCM constitutions were detected, including 59 patients (25.43%) with moderate constitution and 173 patients (74.57%) with biased constitution. Phlegm-dampness was the most common type of solid constitution 47 patients (20.26%). The most common deficiency constitution was qi deficiency 86 patients (37.07%). There were certain differences in the physical distribution of patients with different gender, age, dialysis age, BMI, and whether they had diabetes, hypertension or anemia.Conclusions:The TCM constitutions of MHD patients are mainly biased constitution. Gender, age, BMI, diabetes or hypertension have a certain impact on the distribution of TCM constitutions. At the same time, different constitutions may have an impact on the anemia of MHD patients. The intervention of TCM constitutions on MHD patients may be beneficial to the prognosis of MHD patients.
