RESUMEN

The objective of the study was to define treatment strategy in cases of facial bones bisphosphonate induced osteonecrosis based on the study of the role of conditionally pathogenic oral microorganisms. Three typical clinical cases of bisphosphonate osteonecrosis of the facial bones were analyzed and 15 conditionally pathogenic oral microorganisms were identified in these patients using real-time PCR in saliva, wound and bone samples. A comparative analysis was carried out with purulent-inflammatory diseases of maxillofacial area. The study results proved an important role of conditionally pathogenic microorganisms of the oral cavity in the development of osteonecrosis of the facial bones. Wide range of bacterial species was identified in osteonecrosis of the facial bones patients. While bone tissue is most exposed to microbial communities, surgical treatment results in effective rehabilitation for a long period.

RESUMEN

Molecular study of congenital immune factors was conducted in 45 patients with inflammatory diseases of maxillofacial area. The study focused on expression of cationic low-molecular peptides α- and Β-defensines in oral mucosa. These peptides are involved in antibacterial activity and regulation of immune reactions. The results showed 20-fold increase in defensines expression in oral mucosa of patients with inflammatory diseases of maxillofacial area when compared to control group (12 healthy individuals) thus proving an important role they play in the development of the disease. Therapy with cytokines may be indicated in these cases.

RESUMEN

The role of conditionally pathogenic microflora in the pathogenesis of lower jaw bone traumatic osteomyelites was investigated. The different groups of aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms were detected by real-time PCR. Role of conditionally pathogenic microflora in the pathogenesis of traumatic osteomielytis was shown.

RESUMEN

Oral cavity is inhabited by microbial communities which vary in composition. These include normal microflora as well as opportunistic microorganisms which may cause periodontitis. Quantitative and qualitative detection of major opportunistic microorganisms DNA serves as a useful tool for dysbiosis assessment, proper treatment choice and outcome appraisal.

RESUMEN

Bacteriological and cytological analysis of the saliva, dental plaques, and gingival fluid was carried out in 48 patients with periodontitis and 25 donors. The concentrations of proinflammatory cytokines IL-1 and TNF-alpha were increased, the levels of anti-inflammatory cytokines IL-4 and TFR beta-1 were decreased, and MIF production was suppressed in the patients in comparison with donors. Important theoretical and practical recommendations are offered.

RESUMEN

The authors studied immunological status of patients with paradontosis. If included estimation of extended structure of lymphocytes and functional status of thymus. There was marked correlation between clinical of patients and immunological indices especially in severe form of paradontitis. As immunological preparation T-activin was used in injections and applications. Using of T-activin gave positive results in patient developed of paradontitis.

RESUMEN

The authors have demonstrated the possibility of a purposeful correction of the immune system disorders in patients with periodontitis, one of such disorders being a lowered phagocytic activity of neutrophils. Lymphokines, immune system mediators, were used for in vitro regulation of neutrophilic phagocytosis. The effects of lymphokines obtained from the peripheral blood lymphocyte culture supernatants of normal subjects and periodontitis patients, and of the purified lymphokine M- and L-fractions normalizing the reduced neutrophilic phagocytosis in periodontitis were under study.
