RESUMEN

Although, there is a steady growth in the total number of sexually transmitted infections (STI), the forensic medical method is a rare expertise type as applicable to venereal and HIV infections. Since sexually abused persons are an STI risk category, they must be diagnosed as soon as possible. A micro-trauma of sexual violence, if detected, is an important finding because it is an open entry gate for STI. The specialist in skin and venereal diseases must examine all victims and all suspected of raping or of sexual violence to rule out the possibility of venereal disease infection.

RESUMEN

Susceptibility to antibiotics of Ureaplasma urealyticum strains isolated in Primorye Region and its changes were evaluated. Among the sexually transmited diseases urogenital ureaplasmosis has the leading position in combination with gonorrhoea, trichomoniasis and infections caused by opportunistic pathogens. The spectrum of investigated antibacterial agents included gentamycin, clarithromycin, roxythromycin, azithromycin, doxycycline, three fluoroquinolones of II generation and for cephalosporins of the I and III generations. The most potent activity against U. urealyticum was demonstrated for pefloxacin (67 per cent of susceptible strains), ofloxacin (63 per cent) and roxythmycin (54 per cent). It is concluded that at Primorye Region the drugs of first choice for the urogenital infections therapy are fluoroquinolones.

RESUMEN

A total of 102 patients were examined, 32 of these with true eczema, 38 with exudative mycosis of the soles, and 32 with eczema etiologically related to a fungal infection. Analysis of the immune and biochemical reactions in the examinees has shown a marked reduction of adenyl nucleotides in the leukocytic suspension and neutrophils of patients with a mycotic infection as against those with true eczema. The lowest creatine phosphate levels were detected in the leukocytic suspension and neutrophils of the patients suffering from eczema etiologically related to mycosis and exudative mycosis of the soles. These results give grounds to search for effective corrective therapy.

RESUMEN

Therapeutic efficacy of external application of 5 percent mebetizol ointment was analyzed in the treatment of 140 patients with microsporosis. The best effect was achieved when such therapy was combined with oral griseofulvin in glabrous skin microsporosis. The effect of treatment of mycosis of the hairy part of the head was less marked. No cases of the therapy intolerance, complications, or recurrences were recorded. Toxic effects of mebetizol on vital organs were not observed. External applications of 5 percent mebetizol ointment permitted cut down of the periods of treatment by 10-15 days, this being a significant economic effect.

RESUMEN

Thirty-five patients with squamous-hyperkeratotic mycoses and onychomycoses were examined, as were 68 ones with exudative mycoses of the soles and 97 ones with disseminated eczemas. The following tests have been employed in the study: direct and indirect leucocyte migration inhibition, investigation of the lymphocyte functional activity, skin test with fungal antigen, quantitation of the absolute counts of lymphocytes, neutrophils and phagocytizing neutrophils, T and B rosette forming cells. Patients with mycoses of the soles with involvement of the nail plates, as well as those suffering from eczemas combined with mycoses developed a most marked reduction of the activity of the leukocyte migration inhibition factor (LMIF) and of the T lymphocyte mediator activity in the presence of the fungal antigen. The studies have detected the pattern of the leukocyte phagocytic reaction disturbances in the patients with mycoses and eczemas of the soles. No inhibiting effect of LMIF on the leukocytes in these patients appears to be due to the defect of the target cells and not of the producer cells. The direct and indirect leukocyte migration inhibition tests are recommended to be included in the complex of immunologic tests used in examinations of patients with exudative mycoses and eczemas of the soles and with the transitional and combined forms of these two conditions.
