RESUMEN

We studied the effect of thymodepressin on migration and adhesion of mouse hemopoietic CD34+ cells under normal conditions and under the effect of granulocytic CSF. It was found that the peptide reduced the absolute number of CD34+ hemopoietic cells in the peripheral blood, increased the percent of cells bound to fibronectin and expressing receptor for integrin beta1 (CD29+) in the bone marrow of mice under normal conditions and after stimulation with granulocytic CSF, and reduced the relative number of cells carrying CXCR4 receptor for stromal factor-1 (CD184+) in the bone marrow (CD34+CD184+) and blood (CD184+) of mice stimulated with granulocytic CSF. The results suggest that thymodepressin can inhibit migration of CD34+ cells from bone marrow into peripheral blood under conditions of normal and granulocytic CSF-stimulated hemopoiesis.

RESUMEN

Altogether 4000 patients were examined using an ultrasonograph Toshiba SAL 38AS working in the real time mode. 1.08% of the patients were diagnosed to have small polypoid formations of the gallbladder which, in many cases, could not be recognized at oral cholecystography. Routine repeated sonography of the gallbladder demonstrated that in 94.9% of cases, small polypoid formations did not increase in size for 12 to 18 months. Four patients subjected to cholecystectomy manifested polypous cholesterosis of the gallbladder.

RESUMEN

The inhibitory activity of thymidine, thymidine triphosphate and thymidyl oligonucleotides was studied in thymidine-antithymidine antibodies reaction. Thymidine was shown to have the greatest inhibitory effect, with thymidine triphosphate and thymidyl oligonucleotide inhibitory activity less expressed and reducing with the increase in oligonucleotide length. The effect of thymidine, thymidine triphosphate and thymidyl oligonucleotides on the interaction of antisera and SLE patients' sera with denatured DNA was studied. It was shown that thymidine triphosphate and particularly thymidyl oligonucleotides are characterized by greater inhibitory capacity, as compared to thymidine. It was found that only thymine dimers bound by phosphate groups can inhibit the interaction of UV-irradiated DNA with antiserum specific for UV-modified DNA. The data obtained suggest that the charge determined by phosphoric acid residues plays an essential role in the interaction of antibodies induced to charged structural DNA components.

RESUMEN

It was shown by the immunochemical method that DNA of X-irradiated E. coli cells of a radiosensitive mutant ABA88uvr A6 can react with the antiserum to thymine dimers which, in all appearance, are induced by ionizing radiation in bacterial DNA. The number of thymine dimers in DNA of E. coli AB1886uvr A6 increased with the dose increase. No dimers were detected in radioresistant cells of M. radioproteolyticus probably due to the effective excision thereof.
