RESUMEN

Abstract: Out of 38,282 passengers entering Italy at a major seaport, submitted to SARS-CoV-2 rapid antigenic test, 272 (0.6%) resulted positive and 212 (93.4%) were confirmed positive by qRT-PCR, leaving a 0.6% of false positive. Those resident in the area under control of the same Local Health Authority of the seaport were immediately submitted to isolation and investigated for contact tracing, the others notified to their Local Health Authority which did the same in the following day. This procedure was made possible by a full-time dedication of the local healthcare workers who managed all the passengers disembarking around the clock along the months of the emergency.

RESUMEN

Being over-weight and obesity are conditions which are becoming ever more common and this trend presents a series of social and psychological problems, apart from the well known health risks such as hypertension, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, orthopaedic problems, cancers of the endometrium and breast etc. The prevention and control of excess weight and obesity is largely based on adopting a healthy lifestyle and above all on diet and exercise. These ideas are also included in the Health Plan for 2002-2004, and are among the ten most important strategic objectives for promoting healthy living, disease prevention and informing the public on health matters.

RESUMEN

Italian children's diet is featured by too many sugars and animal proteins, few vitamins, mineral salts and fibres, the last ones mainly from fruits and vegetables. The aim of this work was to evaluate what are preferences, frequency and consumption of fruit in a sample of 134 children of a Lazio's Primary School, aged between 7 and 12. Our study has shown that a great children's percentage eats fruit daily, especially in the form of fresh fruit, and that their awareness of fruit's nutritive value is rather satisfactory, notwithstanding the sample's young age.
