RESUMEN

To give full play to the important role of courses for ideological and political education in moral cultivation, teaching group in the course of oral histology and pathology in Zhejiang University systematically studied the teaching model of which ideological and political education integrated into the course of oral histology and pathology, and put forward a quality evaluation index system of the course. This paper emphatically introduces the general framework of the course, as well as the experience and practices in the aspects of resource mining, teaching design, curriculum evaluation, etc. The quality of the course was evaluated by using the system, which showed that the grade of the course was AAA (excellent) and 95.5% (275/288) students agreed to integrate ideological and political content into the course. The teaching group believes that the integration of the ideological and political content in the course reflects the complementary effect of "teaching" and "educating", and the ideological and political quality as well as the professional level of the teachers are the primary factor to determine the quality of the course. This paper aims at providing a reliable reference for promoting the construction of courses for ideological and political education in the area of oral medical education.

RESUMEN

In the information age, teaching methods are undergoing tremendous changes, and the traditional teaching methods are difficult to draw students' attention. As the core course of stomatology, oral histopathology is an important foundation for oral students. Along with the rapid development of medical science, it is imperative to deepen the reform of teaching. This article discussed the diversified teaching methods conducted in oral histopathology course in Zhejiang University School of Stomatology in the past 10 years with the core teaching theory of "learning before teaching" including the exploration design course, case based learning, journal club, etc. Diversified teaching methods activated students' subjective initiative, which laid a foundation for the next stage of clinical study, and provided a guiding framework for the future teaching reforms.

RESUMEN

Pneumoconiosis is the most common and severe occupational disease, has become a major public health problem in the world. Its causes are well known, but the pathogenesis of it is not completely clear and effective therapies are not currently available. Epigenetic modifications have been considered an initial event in the development of pneumoconiosis. Epigenetic regulatory mechanisms in pneumoconiosis include DNA methylation, non-coding RNA (ncRNA) , and histone modification. In recent years, many researchers have studied the effect of dust-induced pulmonary fibrosis-related gene expression at the epigenetic level on macrophage activation, lung fibroblast proliferation, activation, transdifferentiation, and epithelial or endothelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT/EndMT) to further elucidate the pathogenesis of pneumoconiosis. In this review, we discusses the epigenetic modifications in pneumoconiosis, with an aim to provide new insights into the early diagnosis, condition assessment and targeted therapy of this occupational disease.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To know the incidence and survival rate of patients with pneumoconiosis in Yueyang and investigate the related factors of death hazard ratio. METHODS: A total; of 1404 patients with pneumoconiosis were diagnosed and reported from 1963.1-2014.12. Log Rank method and Cox regression model were used to make the survival analysis. RESULTS: The case fatality rate of pneumoconiosis was 24.57%,and rose with the increase of pneumoconiosis stage, the average course of disease was (14.7±8.7) years, the average age of death was (60.6±11.3) years, tuberculosis、Chronic cardiopulmonary disease and pneumonia were the top three cause of death for patients. The survival rates which included three stages of pneumoconiosis patients and the patients whether or not complicated with tuberculosis were significant statistical differences. Cox regression analysis revealed that the main impact. factors for the survival of patients with pneumoconiosis and the value of. the death hazard ratios (RR) of above seven factors were silicosis (2.28) 、the increase of pneumoconiosis stage (1.77) 、pneumoconiosis complicated with tuberculosis (1.29) 、the increase of stage promotion (1.20) 、the increase of age of the first contacting dust (1.08) 、the expansion of the scale of enterprise (0.55) and the later period of contacting dust (0.37). CONCLUSION: Prevention of pneumoconiosis should focus on silicosis in Yueyang, the prevention and treatment of pneumoconiosis complicated with tuberculosis is an important means for improving the survival of patients.

RESUMEN

The endogenous release of angiogenic factors in a rabbit mandibular distraction osteogenesis model was investigated. The spatial and temporal expression of hypoxia inducible factor-1alpha (HIF-1alpha) and angiopoietin-1 (Ang-1) was compared at different phases. The lengthened calluses were harvested on post-osteotomy days 13, 20, 34 and 48, and then stained with haematoxylin & eosin. Immunohistochemical (IHC) and in-situ hybridization (ISH) examination of HIF-1alpha and Ang-1 staining was performed. The ossification in the distracted gap was predominantly intramembranous and slightly endochondral. Expression of HIF-1alpha and Ang-1 was mainly detected in the cytoplasm of fibroblast-like cells, osteoblasts and immature osteocytes on day 13 and 20, but declined with bone maturation. HIF-1alpha was also detected in the nuclei of some osteoblasts. These results suggest that the production of HIF-1alpha and Ang-1 in the distracted gap may contribute to new bone formation during gradual distraction of the mandible.
