RESUMEN

Background: Long-term outcomes for knee osteoarthritis patients undergoing unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) and total knee arthroplasty (TKA) remain inconclusive. Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the long-term outcomes over five years, including Knee Society Pain Scores (KSPS), Knee Society Scores (KSS), Knee Society Function Scores (KSFS), range of motion (ROM), and survival rates-of UKA vs. TKA in knee osteoarthritis patients. Design: Systematic review using data from randomized controlled and cohort trials, and world databases. Data sources: Researchers searched Medline, Embase, Cochrane Controlled Register of Trials, and ClinicalTrials.gov from January 1990 to March 2024. Eligibility criteria for selecting studies: The researchers selected studies based on adult participants with knee osteoarthritis. Eligible studies compare UKA and TKA reports on clinical or surgical outcomes, including KSPS, KSS, KSFS, ROM and survival rates, over 5 years. The researchers excluded the studies fewer than five years, or if English text was unavailable. Results: Researchers categorized twenty-nine eligible studies into three groups: five randomized controlled trials, 11 registries and database studies, and 13 cohort studies. The analysis revealed that neither TKA nor UKA definitively outperformed the other in terms of pain (SMD (95% CI): -0.06 [-0.41, 0.28], I 2 = 90%) and KSS scores (SMD (95% CI): -0.07 [-0.23, 0.008], I 2 = 81%) over a period of five years. However, KSFS (SMD (95% CI): -0.30 [-0.43, -0.17], I 2 = 74%) and ROM (SMD (95% CI): -0.78 [-1.11, -0.46], I 2 = 92%) tended to favor UKA, and survival rate favor TKA at 5 or over 5-year follow-up periods. Conclusions: UKA shows a trend towards better outcomes in KSFS and ROM, alongside a more favorable survival rate in TKA at the five-year and beyond follow-up periods. RESUMEN

Herein, we developed a series of benzo[1,3]oxazinyloxazolidinones as potent antibacterial agents. Some of the compounds exhibited potent antibacterial activity against a range of clinical drug-resistant pathogens, including Mtb, MRSA, MRSE, VISA, and VRE. Notably, compound 16d inhibited protein synthesis and displayed potent activity against linezolid-resistant Enterococcus faecalis. Although 16d showed cross-resistance to linezolid-resistant MRSA, the frequency of resistance development of MRSA against 16d was lower compared to that of linezolid. Additionally, 16d exhibited excellent pharmacokinetic properties and superior in vivo efficacy compared to linezolid. Furthermore, compound 16d modulated cytokine levels and ameliorated histopathological changes in major organs of bacterially infected mice. Hoechst-PI double staining and scanning electron microscopy analyses revealed that 16d exhibited some similarities with linezolid in its effects while also demonstrating a distinct mechanism characterized by cell membrane damage. Moreover, 16d significantly disrupted the MRSA biofilms. The antibacterial agent 16d represents a promising candidate for the treatment of serious infections caused by drug-resistant bacteria.

RESUMEN

PURPOSE: Breast cancer accounts for 30% of all female cancers in the US. Cytomegalovirus (CMV), a herpesvirus that establishes lifelong infection, may play a role in breast cancer. CMV is not oncogenic, yet viral DNA and proteins have been detected in breast tumors, indicating possible contribution to tumor development. CMV encodes cmvIL-10, a homolog of human cellular IL-10 (cIL-10) with potent immunosuppressive activities. We investigated the relationship between CMV infection, cytokines, and breast cancer. METHODS: We evaluated CMV serostatus and cytokine levels in plasma of women with benign breast disease (n = 38), in situ carcinoma (n = 41), invasive carcinoma, no lymph node involvement (Inv/LN-; n = 41), and invasive with lymph node involvement (Inv/LN+; n = 37). RESULTS: Fifty percent of the patient samples (n = 79) were CMV seropositive. There was no correlation between CMV status and diagnosis (p = 0.75). For CMV+ patients, there was a trend toward higher CMV IgG levels in invasive disease (p = 0.172). CmvIL-10 levels were higher in CMV+ in situ patients compared to the Inv/LN- and Inv/LN+ groups (p = 0.020). Similarly, cIL-10 levels were higher in CMV+ in situ patients compared to the Inv/LN- and Inv/LN+ groups (p = 0.043). The results were quite different in CMV- patients where cIL-10 levels were highest in Inv/LN- compared to benign, in situ, or Inv/LN+ (p = 0.019). African American patients were significantly associated with CMV+ status (p = 0.001) and had lower cmvIL-10 levels than Caucasian patients (p = 0.046). CONCLUSION: No association was observed between CMV IgG and diagnosis, but CMV infection influences cytokine production and contributes to altered cytokine profiles in breast cancer.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical significance of using 3D printing guides in modified unilateral puncture percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) for the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCF), and to explore a new method for preventing paravertebral vein leakage during PVP in conjunction with a previous study of the optimal puncture-side bone cement/vertebral volume ratio(PSBCV/VV%). METHODS: This retrospective study analyzed 99 patients who underwent unilateral puncture PVP between January 2023 and December 2023. Patients were divided into a guide plate group (46 patients) and a conventional group (53 patients). The guide plate group underwent modified unilateral puncture PVP with the guidance of 3D printing guides, while the conventional group underwent unilateral puncture PVP using the conventional pedicle approach. The distribution of bone cement, surgical outcomes, and the occurrence of cement leakage into paravertebral veins were observed in both groups. RESULTS: The guide plate group had significantly shorter operating time and required fewer fluoroscopies compared to the conventional group. The amount of bone cement volume (BCV) used in the guide plate group was higher, but the amount of bone cement volume on the puncture side(PSBCV), the PSBCV/VV%, and the rate of paravertebral vein leakage were lower in the guide plate group compared to the conventional group (P < 0.05). Within each group, significant improvements in anterior vertebral margin height, Cobb angle, visual analog scale (VAS) score, and Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) were observed at 1 day and 1 month postoperatively compared to preoperative values (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Using 3D printing guides in modified unilateral puncture PVP is a safe and effective method for treating OVCF. And it has the advantages of short operation time, less fluoroscopy, even distribution of bone cement, and a low rate of paravertebral vein leakage.

RESUMEN

Analyzing the spatiotemporal evolution of urban land use and habitat quality can reveal the correlation between land use and habitat quality, aiding in rational urban land policies and high-quality ecological environment development. This study was based on land use transition matrices and an Intensity-Migration (IM) model to analyze the changes in land use in Harbin from 2000 to 2020. It combined the PLUS model to explore the driving factors of land use expansion for various land types and predicted land use scenarios for 2030 under natural development, ecological protection, farmland protection, and urban development scenarios. Finally, the InVEST model was used to complete the habitat quality analysis. The results indicated: ① The dominant land use types in Harbin were cropland, forest land, and grassland. From 2000 to 2020, there was a significant tendency of conversion into grassland, cropland, forest land, and artificial surfaces, with noticeable changes in land use intensity. Water bodies, bare land, and wetland types showed less conversion and tended to be restrictive. ② Elevation was the primary factor influencing the expansion of grassland, cropland, forest land, bare land, wetland, and water bodies. Socioeconomic factors were the main factor affecting the expansion of artificial surfaces. ③ Simulation of land use types in Harbin for 2030 under the four scenarios showed an increase in forest land area and a decrease in grassland area, with insignificant changes in wetland, water bodies, and bare land areas. Except for in the ecological protection scenario, the area of artificial surfaces increased, whereas cropland decreased. ④ Overall, habitat quality in Harbin improved from 2000 to 2020. ⑤ In 2030, the spatial pattern of habitat quality in Harbin remained consistent across all scenarios, showing an overall improvement in habitat quality. Under the ecological protection scenario, areas with low and medium habitat quality decreased, whereas areas with higher habitat quality increased, indicating a relatively significant improvement in habitat quality. The research results provide a scientific basis and insights for the development of ecological civilization and urban planning and construction in Harbin.

RESUMEN

In this editorial, we comment on an article by Alhammad et al that was published in a recent issue of the World Journal of Clinical Cases (Manuscript No.: 91134). We specifically focus on the mental health problems caused by coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), their mechanisms, and targeted rehabilitation strategies. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, via its spike protein, binds to angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 and other receptors prior to infiltrating diverse cells within the central nervous system, including endothelial cells, neurons, astrocytes, and oligodendrocytes, thereby contributing to the development of mental illnesses. Epidemiological data from 2020 underscored the global upsurge in major depressive and anxiety disorders by 27.6% and 25.6%, respectively, during the pandemic. The commented research show that 30% of post-intensive care unit discharge patients with COVID-19 in the Arabic region exhibited Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale scores that were indicative of anxiety and depression. While acknowledging psychosocial factors, such as grief and loss, it is crucial to recognize the potential neurological impact of the virus through various mechanisms. Accordingly, interventions that encompass dietary measures, health supplements, and traditional Chinese medicine with neuroprotective properties are necessary. This editorial underscores the urgency to implement comprehensive rehabilitation approaches to address the intricate interplay between COVID-19 and mental well-being.

RESUMEN

Background: Gallbladder mixed neuroendocrine-non-neuroendocrine neoplasm generally consists of a gallbladder neuroendocrine tumor and a non-neuroendocrine component. The World Health Organization (WHO) in 2019 established a guideline requiring each component, both neuroendocrine and non-neuroendocrine, to account for a minimum of 30% of the tumor mass. Methods: Patients after surgery resection and diagnosed at microscopy evaluation with pure gallbladder neuroendocrine carcinoma (GBNEC), gallbladder mixed adeno-neuroendocrine carcinoma (GBMANEC, GBNEC≥30%), and gallbladder carcinoma mixed with a small fraction of GBNEC (GBNEC <30%) between 2010 and 2022 at West China Hospital of Sichuan University were collated for the analyses. Demographic features, surgical variables, and tumor characteristics were evaluated for association with patients' overall and recurrence-free survival (OS and RFS). Results: The study included 26 GBNEC, 11 GBMANEC, 4 gallbladder squamous-cell carcinoma (GBSCC), and 7 gallbladder adenocarcinoma (GBADC) mixed with a small fraction of GBNEC. All patients had stage III or higher tumors (AJCC8th edition). The majority of included patients (79.17%) underwent curative surgical resection (R0), with only ten patients having tumoral resection margins. In the analysis comparing patients with GBNEC percentage (GBNEC≥30% vs. GBNEC<30%), the basic demographics and tumor characteristics of most patients were comparable. The prognosis of these patients was also comparable, with a median OS of 23.65 months versus 20.40 months (P=0.13) and a median RFS of 17.1 months versus 12.3 months (P=0.24). However, patients with GBADC or GBSCC mixed with GBNEC <30% had a statistically significant decreased OS and RFS (both P<0.0001)) compared with GBNEC and GBMANEC. Patients with GBNEC who exhibited advanced tumor stages and lymphovascular invasion had a higher risk of experiencing worse overall survival (OS) and recurrence-free survival (RFS). However, a 30% GBNEC component was not identified as an independent risk factor. Conclusion: Patients with GBNEC were frequently diagnosed at advanced stages and their prognosis is poor. The 30% percentage of the GBNEC component is not related to the patient's survival.

RESUMEN

B. abortus is a facultative intracellular bacterium that replicates within macrophages. Intracellular survival is one of the important indexes to evaluate the virulence of Brucella. Ferroptosis is a type of programmed cell death induced by the accumulation of free iron, reactive oxygen species (ROS), and toxic lipid peroxides, play roles on cancers, cardiovascular diseases, and inflammatory diseases. In this study, we found that Brucella rough strain RB51 induced ferroptosis on macrophages with reduced levels of host glutathione and glutathione peroxidase 4 (Gpx4), together with increased ferrous iron, lipid peroxidation, and ROS. The inhibitor ferrostatin-1 significantly reduced the ferroptosis of RB51-infected macrophages, confirming that ferroptosis occurred during infection with Brucella RB51. Furthermore, we found that RB51 infection induced ferroptosis is regulated by P53-Slc7a11-Gpx4/GSH signal pathway. Inhibiting P53 decreased the levels of ROS and lipid peroxidation, while the levels of Slc7a11, Gpx4 and GSH were rescued. More importantly, inhibiting ferroptosis by different ferroptosis inhibitors increased the intracellular survival of Brucella RB51, indicating ferroptosis functions on the attenuation of Brucella intracellular survival. Collectively, our observations demonstrate that Brucella RB51 infection induces ferroptosis on macrophages, which is regulated by P53-Slc7a11-Gpx4/GSH signal pathway and functions on the attenuation of intracellular survival of Brucella.

RESUMEN

To evaluate the impact of neoadjuvant chemotherapy on perioperative immune function in breast cancer patients, focusing on CD3+, CD4+, CD8+, and natural killer (NK) cells, as well as the CD4+/CD8+ ratio. We retrospectively reviewed medical records of breast cancer patients who underwent surgery with or without neoadjuvant chemotherapy at our medical center from January 2020 to December 2022. Patients were matched 1:1 based on propensity scores. Immune cell proportions and the CD4+/CD8+ ratio were compared on preoperative day one and postoperative days one and seven. Among matched patients, immune cell proportions and the CD4+/CD8+ ratio did not significantly differ between those who received neoadjuvant chemotherapy and those who did not at any of the three time points. Similar results were observed in chemotherapy-sensitive patients compared to the entire group of patients who did not receive neoadjuvant chemotherapy. However, chemotherapy-insensitive patients had significantly lower proportions of CD4+ and NK cells, as well as a lower CD4+/CD8+ ratio, at all three time points compared to patients who did not receive neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy may impair immune function in chemotherapy-insensitive patients, but not in those who are sensitive to the treatment.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Diabetic foot (DF) complications often lead to severe vascular issues. This study investigated the effectiveness of enhanced external counterpulsation (EECP) and its derived innovative compression strategies in addressing poor perfusion in DF. Although developing non-invasive and efficient treatment methods for DF is critical, the hemodynamic alterations during EECP remain underexplored despite promising outcomes in microcirculation. This research sought to address this gap by developing a patient-specific 0D-1D model based on clinical ultrasound data to identify potentially superior compression strategies that could substantially enhance blood flow in patients with DF complications. METHODS: Data were gathered from 10 patients with DF utilizing ultrasound for blood flow rate and computed tomography angiography (CTA) to identify lower limb conditions. Clinical measurements during standard EECP, with varying cuff pressures, facilitated the creation of a patient-specific 0D-1D model through a two-step parameter estimation process. The accuracy of this model was verified via comparison with the clinical measurements. Four compression strategies were proposed and rigorously evaluated using this model: EECP-Simp-I (removing hip cuffs), EECP-Simp-II (further removing the cuffs around the lower leg), EECP-Impr-I (removing all cuffs around the affected side), and EECP-Impr-II (building a loop circulation from the healthy side to the affected side). RESULTS: The predicted results under the rest and standard EECP states were generally closely aligned with clinical measurements. The patient-specific 0D-1D model demonstrated that EECP-Simp-I and EECP-Impr-I contributed similar enhancement to perfusion in the dorsal artery (DA) and were comparable to standard EECP, while EECP-Simp-II had the least effect and EECP-Impr-II displayed the most significant enhancement. Pressure at the aortic root (AO) remained consistent across strategies. CONCLUSIONS: EECP-Simp-I is recommended for patients with DF, emphasizing device simplification. However, EECP-Simp-II is discouraged as it significantly diminished blood perfusion in this study, except in cases of limb fragility. EECP-Impr-II showed superior enhancement of blood perfusion in DA to all other strategies but required a more complex EECP device. Despite increased AO pressure in all the proposed compression strategies, safety could be guaranteed as the pressue remained within a safe range.

RESUMEN

The prevalence of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), one of the most important multidrug-resistant bacteria in clinic, has become a serious global health issue. In this study, we designed and synthesized a series of griseofamine A derivatives and evaluated their antibacterial profiles. In vitro assays found that compound 9o10 showed a remarkable improvement of antibacterial activity toward MRSA (MIC = 0.0625 µg/mL), compared with griseofamine A (MIC = 8 µg/mL) and vancomycin (MIC = 0.5 µg/mL) with low hemolysis and cytotoxicity. Its rapid bactericidal property was also confirmed by time-kill curve assay. Furthermore, compound 9o10 displayed weak drug resistance frequency. In in vivo experiment, compound 9o10 exhibited more potent antibacterial efficacy than vancomycin and excellent biosafety (LD50 > 2 g/kg). Preliminary mechanism study revealed compound 9o10 might involve antibacterial mechanisms contributing to membrane damage. Taken together, compound 9o10 possessed excellent inhibitory activity against MRSA in vitro and in vivo with low toxicity and drug resistance frequency, making it a promising hit compound for further development against MRSA infections.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and spinal degenerative disorders (SDD) are common diseases that frequently coexist. However, both traditional observational studies and recent Mendelian randomization (MR) studies have demonstrated conflicting evidence on the association between T2DM and SDD. This comparative study explored and compared the association between T2DM and SDD using observational and MR analyses. METHODS: For observational analyses, cross-sectional studies (44,972 participants with T2DM and 403,095 participants without T2DM), case-control studies (38,234 participants with SDD and 409,833 participants without SDD), and prospective studies (35,550 participants with T2DM and 392,046 participants without T2DM with follow-up information until 2022) were performed to test the relationship between T2DM and SDD using individual-level data from the U.K. Biobank from 2006 to 2022. For MR analyses, the associations between single-nucleotide polymorphisms with SDD susceptibility obtained using participant data from the U.K. Biobank, which had 407,938 participants from 2006 to 2022, and the FinnGen Consortium, which had 227,388 participants from 2017 to 2022, and genetic predisposition to T2DM obtained using summary statistics from a pooled genome-wide association study involving 1,407,282 individuals were examined. The onset and severity of T2DM are not available in the databases being used. RESULTS: Participants with T2DM were more likely to have SDD than their counterparts. Logistic regression analysis identified T2DM as an independent risk factor for SDD, which was confirmed by the Cox proportional hazard model results. However, using single-nucleotide polymorphisms as instruments, the MR analyses demonstrated no causal relationship between T2DM and SDD. The lack of such an association was robust in the sensitivity analysis, and no pleiotropy was seen. CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that the association between T2DM and SDD may be method-dependent. Researchers and clinicians should be cautious in interpreting the association, especially the causal association, between T2DM and SDD. Our findings provide fresh insights into the association between T2DM and SDD by various analysis methods and guide future research and clinical efforts in the effective prevention and management of T2DM and SDD. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: Prognostic Level III. See Instructions for Authors for a complete description of levels of evidence.

RESUMEN

The rotting wood in freshwater is a unique eco-environment favoring various fungi. During our investigation of freshwater fungi on decaying wood, three hyphomycetes were collected from Jiangxi and Guangxi Provinces, China. Based on the morphological observations and phylogenetic analysis of a combined DNA data containing ITS, LSU, SSU and tef1-α sequences, two new Trichobotrys species, T.meilingensis and T.yunjushanensis, as well as a new record of T.effusa, were introduced. Additionally, a comprehensive description of the genus with both morphological and molecular data was first provided.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: Our study aims to evaluate the predictive accuracy of functional liver remnant volume (FLRV) in post-hepatectomy liver failure (PHLF) among surgically-treated jaundiced patients with hilar cholangiocarcinoma (HCCA). METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed surgically-treated jaundiced patients with HCCA between June, 2000 and June, 2018. The correlation between FRLV and PHLF were analyzed. The optimal cut off value of FLRV in jaundiced HCCA patients was also identified and its impact was furtherly evaluated. RESULTS: A total of 224 jaundiced HCCA patients who received a standard curative resection (43 patients developed PHLF) were identified. Patients with PHLF shared more aggressive clinic-pathological features and were generally in a more advanced stage than those without PHLF. An obvious inconsistent distribution of FLRV in patients with PHLF and those without PHLF were detected. FLRV (continuous data) had a high predictive accuracy in PHLF. The newly-acquired cut off value (FLRV = 53.5%, sensitivity = 81.22%, specificity = 81.4%) showed a significantly higher predictive accuracy than conventional FLRV cut off value (AUC: 0.81 vs. 0.60, p < 0.05). Moreover, patients with FLRV lower than 53.5% also shared a significantly higher major morbidity rate as well as a worse prognosis, which were not detected for FLRV of 40%. CONCLUSION: For jaundiced patients with HCCA, a modified FLRV of 53.5% is recommended due to its great impact on PHLF, as well as its correlation with postoperative major morbidities as well as overall prognosis, which might help clinicians to stratify patients with different therapeutic regimes and outcomes. Future multi-center studies for training and validation are required for further validation.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVES: To develop and validate a novel interpretable artificial intelligence (AI) model that integrates radiomic features, deep learning features, and imaging features at multiple semantic levels to predict the prognosis of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) patients at 6 months post-onset. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Retrospectively enrolled 222 patients with ICH for Non-contrast Computed Tomography (NCCT) images and clinical data, who were divided into a training cohort (n = 186, medical center 1) and an external testing cohort (n = 36, medical center 2). Following image preprocessing, the entire hematoma region was segmented by two radiologists as the volume of interest (VOI). Pyradiomics algorithm library was utilized to extract 1762 radiomics features, while a deep convolutional neural network (EfficientnetV2-L) was employed to extract 1000 deep learning features. Additionally, radiologists evaluated imaging features. Based on the three different modalities of features mentioned above, the Random Forest (RF) model was trained, resulting in three models (Radiomics Model, Radiomics-Clinical Model, and DL-Radiomics-Clinical Model). The performance and clinical utility of the models were assessed using the Area Under the Receiver Operating Characteristic Curve (AUC), calibration curve, and Decision Curve Analysis (DCA), with AUC compared using the DeLong test. Furthermore, this study employs three methods, Shapley Additive Explanations (SHAP), Grad-CAM, and Guided Grad-CAM, to conduct a multidimensional interpretability analysis of model decisions. RESULTS: The Radiomics-Clinical Model and DL-Radiomics-Clinical Model exhibited relatively good predictive performance, with an AUC of 0.86 [95% Confidence Intervals (CI): 0.71, 0.95; P < 0.01] and 0.89 (95% CI: 0.74, 0.97; P < 0.01), respectively, in the external testing cohort. CONCLUSION: The multimodal explainable AI model proposed in this study can accurately predict the prognosis of ICH. Interpretability methods such as SHAP, Grad-CAM, and Guided Grad-Cam partially address the interpretability limitations of AI models. Integrating multimodal imaging features can effectively improve the performance of the model. CLINICAL RELEVANCE STATEMENT: Predicting the prognosis of patients with ICH is a key objective in emergency care. Accurate and efficient prognostic tools can effectively prevent, manage, and monitor adverse events in ICH patients, maximizing treatment outcomes.

RESUMEN

The importance of evaluating the nutritional status and immune condition prior to surgery has gained significant attention in predicting the prognosis of cancer patients in recent years. The objective of this study is to establish a risk model for predicting the prognosis of gallbladder carcinoma (GBC) patients. Data from GBC patients who underwent radical resection at West China Hospital of Sichuan University (China) from 2014 to 2021 were retrospectively collected. A novel risk model was created by incorporating the prognostic nutritional index and glucose-to-lymphocyte ratio, and each patient was assigned a risk score. The patients were then divided into low- and high-risk cohorts, and comparisons were made between the two groups in terms of clinicopathological features and prognosis. Propensity score matching was conducted to reduce potential bias. A total of 300 GBC patients receiving radical surgery were identified and included in this study. Patients in the high-risk group were older, had higher levels of serum carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), cancer antigen 125 (CA125), and cancer antigen 19-9 (CA19-9), were more likely to experience postoperative complications, and had more aggressive tumor characteristics, such as poor differentiation, lymph node metastasis, and advanced tumor stage. They also had lower overall survival (OS) rates (5-year OS rate: 11.2% vs. 37.4%) and disease-free survival (DFS) rates (5-year DFS rate: 5.1% vs. 18.2%). After propensity score matching, the high-risk population still experienced poorer prognosis (5-year OS rate: 12.7% vs 20.5%; 5-year DFS rate: 3.2% vs 8.2%). The risk model combining prognostic nutritional index and glucose-to-lymphocyte ratio can serve as a standalone predictor for the prognosis and assist in optimizing the treatment approach for GBC patients.
