RESUMEN

It was proposed the medical and diagnostic tactic in patients with acute mesenteric ischemia on basis of efficiency results of modern laboratory markers and instrumental methods. Positive laboratory D-dimer-test with computed tomography of abdominal organs or abdominal aorta and its branches CT-angiography led to diagnose thrombosis or embolism of mesenteric arteries at early terms and to reduce preoperative period. The authors presented the variant of isolated endovascular intervention in case of superior mesenteric artery thrombosis. This technique may be regarded as the method of choice in the treatment of patients with acute mesenteric ischemia.

RESUMEN

Quantitative and functional parameters of regional intestinal blood circulation were intraoperatively investigated with the use of laser Doppler flowmetry. The first group consisted of patients with necrotized parts of the intestine, while the second (control) group consisted of flowmetry data from intact intestine. Such indexes, as basal circulation, variation coefficient, blood oxygen perfusion saturation index, maximal perfusion amplitude of endothelial, neurogenic and myogenic oscillations in the intestinal volume, were showed to be valuable for the intestinal viability assessment. Thus, the method of the intraoperative laser Doppler flowmetry can be useful for determining the volume of intestinal resection.

RESUMEN

Results of examination and treatment of 646 patients with severe combined trauma and closed abdominal trauma are analyzed. Laparocentesis and laparoscopy were used for diagnosis. Laparocentesis (342 procedures) diagnosed injuries of the abdominal organs in 47% cases and excluded them in 33% cases that made a total of 80% of accurate diagnoses. Laparoscopy (304 procedures) provided accurate diagnosis in 99.34% cases. Laparoscopy did not reveal injuries that required additional surgical procedures in 56% patients, in the rest 44% patients surgical methods of treatment were used including laparotomy (29.2%) and endo-surgical procedures (14.8%). Algorithm of diagnosis and treatment is described.

RESUMEN

Experiments conducted on CBA mice to study the effect of intraperitoneal injections of 1.0, 2.5, 5.0, and 10 mg/mouse of carrageenan-kappa (Sigma, USA) on the ingesting capacity of mononuclear phagocytes allowed the authors to suggest a model of 10- and 24-hour macrophage block. Doses of 2.5 and 5 mg/mouse are most advisable. Monocytopenia was encountered in peripheral blood in block of macrophages. The depth and duration of the macrophage block can be controlled according to the response of peripheral blood monocytes of mice given carrageenan-kappa.

RESUMEN

The process of cholesterol extraction from the blood of rabbits with experimental atherosclerosis was investigated, with the following reinjection of the blood with reduced amount of cholesterol. Liquid membranes were applied to extract free cholesterol. Emulsion consisting of blood-compatible membrane (oil and sorbitan oleate) and the inner phase (water solution of digitonin) was used as an extractant. The average degree of cholesterol extraction was 23.4%. Pretreatment of the emulsion, its composition and the way of preparation make it possible to perform the extraction from the blood without a considerable increase in the degree of hemolysis.

RESUMEN

Extraction of lipoprotein components from water solutions by means of emulsions similar to "water in oil" was studied, where either suspension of glycosides in buffer or water solution of diethyl ether and ethanol were used as an inner phase of the emulsion. The first type of extraction enabled to isolate selectively free cholesterol from lipoproteins and the second type--lipids, respectively. The rate of cholesterol isolation from lipoproteins of various classes, dependent on the strength of cholesterol binding in lipoproteins was increased as follows: alpha less than beta less than pre-beta-lipoproteins; the procedure allowed to isolate selectively cholesterol from atherogenous lipoproteins.
