RESUMEN

The efficiency of spa treatment in combination with intravenous He-Ne laser (wavelength 0.63 microns) radiation of the blood was studied in 152 patients with bronchial asthma of endogenous genesis, mainly with that of moderate severity. By the end of 24-day treatment there were clinical improvements, better external respiratory parameters, and alleviated inflammation.

RESUMEN

The efficacy of physiotherapy (induction therapy, microwave irradiation, acupuncture) for chronic bronchitis with obstructive syndrome (254 patients) was evaluated in relation to the disease genesis and the nature of bronchial obstruction by clinical, functional and biochemical evidence. The best results in restoration of the bronchial patency were obtained in patients with transient obstruction of allergic origin. This fact can be attributed to enhancement of the activity of proteinase alpha 1-inhibitor and kininogenase inactivation. Of all the modalities used, induction therapy and acupuncture proved the most efficient. The authors propose differentiated indications for the physiotherapy variants with regard to pathogenetic specificity of the disease.

RESUMEN

Clinico-x-ray-laboratory investigation, bronchoscopy were performed, respiratory function and ECG were studied in 212 patients with different forms of chronic bronchitis. Six groups of patients were defined with relation to the presence or absence of obstruction, its nature (permanent, transient), prevalence (small, medium and large bronchi), genesis of disease (inflammatory, allergic). The characteristics of the groups and their clinico-x-ray, functional and immunological features were presented. Treatment including methods of climatotherapy, exercise therapy, pharmacological agents (antibacterial, broncholithic and antihistaminic), physiotherapy and administered with relation to the defined groups, proved to be effective. The improvement of bronchial permeability was noted in 49.5% (ranging from 40.0 to 68.7% in different groups).

RESUMEN

Physiotherapeutic and other methods were employed for the treatment of patients with chronic nonobstructive bronchitis (CNB), chronic bronchitis with transient obstruction of the small bronchi of inflammatory genesis, chronic asthmatic bronchitis (CAB) and chronic obstructive bronchitis (COB). The level of secretory IgA and relative E-RFC number in the bronchial wash off, lysozyme concentration, the level of IgA and titer of heterophilic normal antibodies in the saliva were assessed. The content of T- and B-lymphocytes in the blood was studied. The results were assessed with a method of discrete-dynamic analysis. It was established that the incorporation of inductothermia with ethonium-electrophoresis and the magnetic field effect on the thyroid in CAB and inductothermia with ethonium-electrophoresis in COB in the complex of therapeutic measures produced a positive effect. In CNB (inactive phase) and COB patients inductothermia resulted in restoration of some interrelationships in the immune system whereas in CAB patients in their dysbalance. Different changes in the levels of interrelationships of certain parameters of the immune system were observed in the incorporation of sinusoidal modulated currents in the therapeutic complexes.
