RESUMEN

Tooth transposition is a challenge for orthodontists, especially in correcting the order of teeth. At present, the literature on transposition canines mainly focuses on epidemiological studies and case reports, and no systematic treatment guidance has been formed. In this article, the definition and classification, epidemiology and etiology, imaging diagnosis, treatment and risk control of transposed canines are systematically described in order to provide reference for clinical practice.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To detect white matter abnormalities in patients with mild Alzheimer disease (AD) by diffusion tensor imaging and to determine their topographic relationship with gray matter atrophy. METHODS: Thirteen patients with mild AD and 16 normal age-matched volunteers underwent diffusion tensor imaging and three-dimensional spoiled gradient-recalled sequence scanning. Voxel-based morphometry was conducted to detect regions of gray matter atrophy in the AD group relative to the control group. Fractional anisotropy (FA) maps were processed using SPM2 to make voxel-wise comparison of anisotropy in whole brain between the two groups. The relationship between locations of abnormalities in the white and gray matter was examined. RESULTS: Significant reductions in anisotropy were found in the white matter of both medial temporal lobes, bilateral temporal stems, bilateral superior longitudinal fasciculi, bilateral internal capsules, and cerebral peduncles, as well as the white matter of left middle temporal gyrus and right superior parietal lobule, the body and genu of the corpus callosum, and the right lateral capsule in patients with AD. Although the decrease in FA was consistent with cortical volumetric reduction in both temporal lobes, the widespread involvement of bilateral superior longitudinal fasciculi was dominant in these white matter findings. CONCLUSIONS: Voxel-wise comparison of whole-brain anisotropy revealed widely distributed disintegration of white matter in mild Alzheimer disease (AD). The white matter shows a different pattern of degeneration from gray matter and may be an independent factor in the progress of AD.

RESUMEN

beta-Elemene and its derivatives were hopeful new antitumor drugs. A method for determination of elemenyl piperidine salt in water has been developed with capillary gas chromatography. The samples were neutralized by sodium carbonate and extracted by n-heptane. n-Octadecane was used as the internal standard. The linear range was from 10 g/L to 100 g/L, with a correlation coefficient of 0.9998. The average recovery of the method was 99.96% and the RSD was 0.46% (n = 5). The coefficient of variation was less than 2%. The method is simple, rapid, accurate and can be applied to the determination of the nitrogen-containing compounds of beta-elemene.

RESUMEN

The splenocyte of BALB/c mice, immunized with soluble and ovarian serous papillary cystedenoma-associated antigen CA925, was fused with NS-1 myeloma cell strain to produce a monoclonal antibody. 5 cell strains of the monoclonal antibody with continuous secretion were obtained. The fusion openings were used as code names: OC4D9, OC7E10, OC1B4, OC3B8, and OC9B9, their titers were 1: 10(7), 1: 10(7), 1: 10(6), 1: 10(4) and 1: 10(5) respectively. Ig subgroups were IgM and IgG. The chromosomes showed the characteristics of their parents. The 5 strains of the monoclonal antibody obtained presented specific reactions to CA925, no positive reaction with normal ovarian tissues or leiomyoma of the uterus were seen, and there were weak reactions with carcinomas of the lung, the stomach, the kidney, the esophagus and the rectum. Immunohistochemical tests proved that the monoclonal antibody produced was specific against ovarian epithelial carcinoma, and it might offer a means to the diagnosis and treatment of malignant ovarian tumors.
