RESUMEN

On days 15-20 after immunization of patients suffering from endometrial tumors with tularemia live vaccine, a significant increase was registered in T-cell population of the immune system, macrophagal transformation of mononuclears and phagocyticity of blood neutrophiles which are generally reduced in stages III-IV. The study group included cases of all tumor stages. Said indices reached normal levels in stage I-II only.

RESUMEN

Effect of content of optimum (0.0009%), excessive and deficiency (0%; 0.00045%) quantities of zinc in alimentary diet on process of cadmium intoxication was studied in chronic experiment with rats. It was established that degree by content of zinc in organism influenced on process of chronic cadmium intoxication very much. Degree by intoxication increased in consequence of deficiency of zinc content in diet as including to diet optimum or excessive quantities of zinc protected or decreased from lesion of liver, kidneys and testis inducing effect of cadmium.

RESUMEN

Intravenous (20 kBk) and intragastric (400 kBk) cadmium chloride administration to 45 white noninbred rat males kept for a month on a semisynthetic isocaloric diet including 0.0005 and 0.001% zinc were evaluated for absorption and distribution. Radionuclide findings provided the conclusions that: the absence or excess of zinc in the diet stimulates cadmium absorption from gastrointestinal tract; cadmium distribution in the viscera (the liver, kidneys, pancreas) varies with route of entry, the least accumulation of oral cadmium in the above viscera is observed in animals receiving optimal zinc quantities.

RESUMEN

Numerous controlled studies have shown that nitrates, beta blockers, and calcium antagonists are effective in the treatment of stable angina pectoris. The pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and hemodynamic effects of these agents are different, and thus combination therapy offers additive improvement and also counterbalancing of the undesirable side effects of each drug. The choice of therapy depends on the severity of symptoms, associated diseases, compliance, side effects, and status of left ventricular function. The main mechanism of improvement is a decrease in myocardial oxygen consumption, though an increase in coronary blood flow is another potential reason for the use of calcium blockers. This review considers the properties of these drugs, their mechanism of action, and the results of randomized studies.

RESUMEN

Initial steps of the experimental pancreatitis were characterized by an increase in glycerophosphate accumulation as well as in activity of glycerokinase, glycerophosphate dehydrogenase and glycerol dehydrogenase; content of free glycerol and dihydroacetone phosphate was also increased. Within the subsequent periods the patterns studied exhibited normalization except of glycerokinase and glycerophosphate dehydrogenase activity of which was distinctly decreased as compared with the controls.
