ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: Morus alba L. are widely used as ethnomedicine and functional food in China, Japan, Korea and other Asian countries. Morus alba L. have a variety of pharmacological activity such as antiviral, antioxidation, anti-cholesterol, anticancer, hypoglycemia, and neuroprotection. Morus alba L. has demonstrated antiviral efficacy against influenza viruses, SARS-CoV-2 and so on, but its potential activity against pseudorabies virus (PRV) remains uncertain. AIM OF THE STUDY: This study endeavors to delve into the anti-pseudorabies virus (PRV) potential of the ethanol extract of Morus alba L. leaves (MLE), while simultaneously elucidating its underlying mechanism of action. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The anti-PRV activities of Morus alba L. extracts at different concentrations were evaluated by qPCR and immunoblotting. The inhibitory effects of MLE on PRV replication in three distinct treatment modes (pretreatment, co-treatment, and post-treatment) were detected by qPCR and indirect immunofluorescence assays. qPCR was used to investigate the effects of MLE on PRV attachment, entrance, and cytokine expression in PRV-infected cells. The chemical components in MLE were analyzed by UPLC-MS/MS. RESULTS: MLE significantly inhibits PRV replication and protein expression in a dose-dependent manner. MLE displays inhibitory effects against PRV at three different modes of treatment. The most significant inhibitory effect of MLE was observed when used in co-treatment mode, resulting in an inhibition rate of 99.42%. MLE inhibits PRV infection in the early stage. MLE inhibits PRV infection by affecting viral attachment and viral entry. Furthermore, MLE exerts its inhibition on PRV replication by mitigating the heightened expression of cytokines (TNF-α and IFN-α) triggered by PRV. Analysis of its chemical composition highlights phenolic acids and flavonoids as the principal constituents of MLE. CONCLUSION: The results illustrate that MLE effectively impedes PRV infection by suppressing viral adsorption and entry, while also curbing the expression of antiviral cytokines. Therefore, MLE may be a potential resource for creating new medications to treat human and animal PRV infections.

Benign hyperplasia (BHP) is a common disorder that affects men over the age of 60 years. Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) is the gold standard for operative treatment, but a range of drugs are also available to improve quality of life and to reduce BHP-associated urinary tract infections and complications. Darifenacin, an anti-muscarinic agent, has been found effective for relieving symptoms of overactive bladder associated with BHP, but the drug has poor solubility and bioavailability, which are major challenges in product development. An inorganic/organic bio-composite with gastric pH-resistant property was synthesized for the targeted oral delivery of Darifenacin to the lower gastrointestinal tract (GIT). This development was accomplished through co-precipitation of calcium carbonate in quince seed-based mucilage. The FTIR, XRD, DSC, and TGA results showed good drug-polymer compatibility, and the SEM images showed calcite formation in the quince hydrogel system. After 72 h, the drug release of 34% and 75% were observed in acidic (0.1N HCl) and 6.8 pH phosphate buffer, respectively. A restricted/less drug was permeated through gastric membrane (21.8%) as compared to permeation through intestinal membrane (65%.) The developed composite showed significant reduction in testosterone-induced prostatic hyperplasia (2.39 ± 0.12***) as compared to untreated diseased animal group. No sign of organ toxicity was observed against all the developed composites. In this study, we developed an inorganic-organic composite system that is highly biocompatible and effective for targeting the lower GIT, thereby avoiding the first-pass metabolism of darifenacin.

The non-conventional manufacturing technologies are notorious when it comes to productivity and processing time in production-related industries. However, the aerospace and other high-end sectors enjoy another quality matrix of these processes and compromise on the processing time. For instance, the machinability of hard-to-cut materials such as Ti6Al4V aerospace alloy for micro-impressions is challenging and commonly carried out through non-conventional processes. Among these processes, the electric discharge machining (EDM) is famous for machining Ti6Al4V. In the current study, the EDM process is enhanced through modified dielectrics such as kerosene with non-ionic liquids (span 20, 60, and 80) and cryogenically treated tool electrodes (aluminum and graphite), and is compared to the conventional kerosene-based process. A three-phase experimental campaign is deployed to explore parametric effects including modified dielectric conditions (non-ionic liquid type and concentration), tool material, and machine parameter pulse ON:OFF time. A total of 60 experiments (54 modified dielectrics and 6 as baseline) were performed to explore process physics. The statistical analyses show that the unmodified process (kerosene dielectric-based) results in the least favorable results 0.58 mm3/min against cryo-graphite and 1.2 mm3/min against cryo-aluminum electrodes. However, the modified dielectrics outperform and improve process dynamics by altering dielectric conditions through hydrophilic-lipophilic balance. Surface morphological analysis shows significantly shallow craters on the machined surface showing evidence of effective flushing through a modified dielectric (S-20) as compared to a kerosene-based dielectric. A thorough microscopical, statistical, and scanning electron-based analysis is carried out to explain the process and correlate significant improvements.

Mountain landscapes can be fragmented due to various human activities such as tourism, road construction, urbanization, and agriculture. It can also be due to natural factors such as flash floods, glacial lake outbursts, land sliding, and climate change such as rising temperatures, heavy rains, or drought.The study's objective was to analyze the mountain landscape ecology of Pir Chinasi National Park under anthropogenic influence and investigate the impact of anthropogenic activities on the vegetation. This study observed spatiotemporal changes in vegetation due to human activities and associated climate change for the past 25 years (1995-2020) around Pir Chinasi National Park, Muzaffrabad, Pakistan. A structured questionnaire was distributed to 200 residents to evaluate their perceptions of land use and its effects on local vegetation. The findings reveal that 60% of respondents perceived spatiotemporal pressure on the park. On the other hand, the Landsat-oriented Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) was utilized for the less than 10% cloud-covered images of Landsat 5, 7, and 8 to investigate the vegetation degradation trends of the study area. During the entire study period, the mean maximum NDVI was approximately 0.28 in 1995, whereas the mean minimum NDVI was - 2.8 in 2010. QGIS 3.8.2 was used for the data presentation. The impact of temperature on vegetation was also investigated for the study period and increasing temperature trends were observed. The study found that 10.81% (1469.08 km2) of the area experienced substantial deterioration, while 23.57% (3202.39 km2) experienced minor degradation. The total area of degraded lands was 34.38% (or 4671.47 km2). A marginal improvement in plant cover was observed in 24.88% of the regions, while 9.69% of the regions experienced a major improvement. According to the NDVI-Rainfall relationships, the area was found to be significantly impacted by human pressures and activities (r ≤ 0.50) driving vegetation changes covering 24.67% of the total area (3352.03 km2). The area under the influence of climatic variability and change (r ≥ 0.50 ≥ 0.90) accounted for 55.84% (7587.26 km2), and the area under both climatic and human stressors (r ≥ 0.50 < 0.70) was 64%. Sustainable land management practices of conservation tillage, integrated pest management, and agroforestry help preserve soil health, water quality, and biodiversity while reducing erosion, pollution, and the degradation of natural resources. landscape restoration projects of reforestation, wetland restoration, soil erosion control, and the removal of invasive species are essential to achieve land degradation neutrality at the watershed scale.

Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cell therapy has shown limited success in patients with solid tumors. Recent in vitro and in vivo data have shown that adrenoceptor beta-2 (ADRB2) is a novel checkpoint receptor that inhibits T cell-mediated anti-tumor responses. To inhibit ADRB2-mediated inhibitory signaling, we downregulated ADRB2 in CAR-T (shß2-CAR-T) cells via RNA interference, assessed different parameters, and compared them with conventional second-generation CAR-T cells. ADRB2 knockdown CAR-T cells exhibited enhanced cytotoxicity against prostate cancer cell lines in vitro, by increasing CD69, CD107a, GzmB, IFN-γ, T-bet, and GLUT-1. Additionally, ADRB2 deficiency led to improved proliferation, increased CD8/CD4 T cell ratio, and decreased apoptosis in CAR-T cells. shß2-CAR-T cells expressed more Bcl-2 and led to the generation of more significant proportions of T central memory cells. Finally, the ZAP-70/NF-κB signaling axis was shown to be responsible for the improved functions of novel CAR-T cells. In tumor-bearing mice, shß2-CAR-T cells performed better than conventional CAR-T cells in eradicating prostate tumors. The study provides the basis for future clinical and translational CAR-T cell research to focus on adrenergic stress-mediated challenges in the tumor microenvironment of stressed tumors.

Current approaches to activity-assisted living (AAL) are complex, expensive, and intrusive, which reduces their practicality and end user acceptance. However, emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and wireless communications offer new opportunities to enhance AAL systems. These improvements could potentially lower healthcare costs and reduce hospitalisations by enabling more effective identification, monitoring, and localisation of hazardous activities, ensuring rapid response to emergencies. In response to these challenges, this paper introduces the Transparent RFID Tag Wall (TRT-Wall), a novel system taht utilises a passive ultra-high frequency (UHF) radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag array combined with deep learning for contactless human activity monitoring. The TRT-Wall is tested on five distinct activities: sitting, standing, walking (in both directions), and no-activity. Experimental results demonstrate that the TRT-Wall distinguishes these activities with an impressive average accuracy of 95.6 % under four distinct distances (2, 2.5, 3.5 and 4.5 m) by capturing the RSSI and phase information. This suggests that our proposed contactless AAL system possesses significant potential to enhance elderly patient-assisted living.

Background & aim: Congenital heart disease (CHD) is the most common cause of non-infectious deaths in infants worldwide. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying CHD remain unclear. Approximately 30 % of the causes are believed to be genetic mutations and chromosomal abnormalities. In this study, we aimed to identify the genetic causes of CHD in consanguineous families. Methods: Fourth-generation pedigrees with CHD were recruited. The main cardiac features of the patient included absence of the right pulmonary artery and a large dilated left pulmonary artery. To determine the underlying genetic cause, whole-exome sequencing was performed and subsequently confirmed using Sanger sequencing and different online databases to study the pathogenesis of the identified gene mutation. An in-silico homology model was created using the Alphafold homology model structure of GATA4 (AF-P43694-F1). The missense3D online program was used to evaluate the structural alterations. Results: We identified a deleterious mutation c.551T > C (p.Phe184Ser) in GATA4. GATA4 is a highly conserved zinc-finger transcription factor, and its continuous expression is essential for cardiogenesis during embryogenesis. The in-silico model suggested a compromised binding efficiency with other proteins. Several variant interpretation algorithms indicated that the F184S missense variant in GATA4 is damaging, whereas HOPE analysis indicated the functional impairment of DNA binding of transcription factors and zinc-ion binding activities of GATA4. Conclusion: The variant identified in GATA4 appears to cause recessive CHD in the family. In silico analysis suggested that this variant was damaging and caused multiple structural and functional aberrations. This study may support prenatal screening of the fetus in this family to prevent diseases in new generations.

OBJECTIVE: To determine the role of dexmedetomidine in potentiating the local anaesthetic efficacy of a low dose of bupivacaine when used as an adjuvant. STUDY DESIGN: A prospective, double-blind, randomised study. Place and Duration of the Study: Department of Anaesthesia, Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation, Karachi, Pakistan, from July 2021 to February 2022. METHODOLOGY: One hundred and eight patients of ASA physical class I-III undergoing transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) under sub-arachnoid block (SAB) were enroled and distributed into two equal groups. Group BUPIPURE (BP) was given 7.5 mg of pure 0.5% hyperbaric bupivacain whereas group BUPIDEX (BD) was given 6 mg of 0.5% hyperbaric bupivacain with 3 µg dexmedetomidine intrathecally. The effects in Both groups were compared using chi-square and unpaired t-tests. A significance level of p <0.05 was used to evaluate the statistical significance. RESULTS: Both groups demonstrated a steady decrease in mean heart rate (mean HR 98.9-62.7 per minute as compared to 79.1-59.4 per minute in groups BP and BD, respectively), however, no patient reached to HR <50/min. Group BP had a higher HR variability than group BD. The two groups' median peak sensory levels were similar. However, a statistically significant difference was revealed in the time taken for 2-segment regression (87.5 ± 11.3 min vs. 115.5 ± 6.2 min p <0.001 in BP and BD), as well as the time to reach T10 sensory level (13.56 ± 2.5 min vs. 10.9 ± 3.0 min p <0.001). CONCLUSION: In patients having TURP, intrathecal dexmedetomidine combined with low-dose bupivacaine results in a quicker start, extended sensory and motor block, and a decreased need for rescue analgesics. OBJECTIVE: To compare the efficacy of dexmedetomidine versus ketofol for moderate sedation in patients undergoing endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). STUDY DESIGN: Randomised controlled trial. Place and Duration of the Study: Department of Anaesthesia, SICU and Pain Management, Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation, Karachi, Paksitan, from December 2021 to June 2022. METHODOLOGY: Sixty-two patients aged 20-60 years of any gender scheduled for elective ERCP were included. Patients were randomly divided into Dexmedetomidine group (2ml ampule of 100ug/ml diluted in 18ml of normal saline) and Ketofol group (2ml ketamine and 10ml of propofol 1% diluted in 8ml of normal saline) for sedation. The mean difference in time to achieve Ramsay Sedation Scale (RSS) score of 4 and Modified Aldrete's Score (MAS) of 9 were noted as outcomes in each group. In addition, complications during the procedure and recovery were also noted. RESULTS: The mean age was 39.15 ± 9.82 years. There were 33 (53.2%) males and 29 (46.8%) females. The mean time to achieve RSS 4 was significantly lower in patients who were treated with Dexmedetomidine as compared to Ketofol, i.e., 11.84 ± 1.77 minutes vs. 13.10 ± 1.64 minutes respectively (p-value 0.005, 95% CI -2.12 to -0.39). Similarly, the mean time to achieve MAS score 9 was significantly lower in patients who were treated with Dexmedetomidine as compared to Ketofol, i.e., 11.19 ± 1.72 minutes vs. 12.23 ± 1.84 minutes, respectively (p-value 0.026, 95% CI -1.94 to -0.13). CONCLUSION: Dexmedetomidine proved to be more effective than Ketofol for sedation in ERCP, achieving faster sedation and quicker recovery. The physical modification of starch to produce resistant starch (RS) is a viable strategy for the glycemic index (GI) lowering of foods and functionality improvement in starchy food products. RS cannot be digested in the small intestine but can be fermented in the colon to produce short-chain fatty acids rather than being broken down by human digestive enzymes into glucose. This provides major health advantages, like better blood sugar regulation, weight control, and a lower chance of chronic illnesses. This article provides a concise review of the recent developments in physical starch modification techniques, including annealing, extrusion, high-pressure processing, radiation, and heat-moisture treatment. Specifically, the focus of this paper is on the alteration of the crystalline structure of starch caused by the heat-moisture treatment and annealing and its impact on the resistance of starch to enzymatic hydrolysis, as well as the granular structure and molecular arrangement of starch caused by extrusion and high-pressure processing, and the depolymerization and crosslinking that results from radiation. The impacts of these alterations on starch's textural qualities, stability, and shelf life are also examined. This review demonstrates how physically modified resistant starch can be used as a flexible food ingredient with both functional and health benefits. These methods are economically and ecologically sustainable since they successfully raise the RS content and improve its functional characteristics without the need for chemical reagents. The thorough analysis of these methods and how they affect the structural characteristics and health advantages of RS emphasizes the material's potential as an essential component in the creation of functional foods that satisfy contemporary dietary and health requirements.

Salt stress imposes significant plant limitations, altering their molecular, physiological, and biochemical functions. Pepper, a valuable herbaceous plant species of the Solanaceae family, is particularly susceptible to salt stress. This study aimed to elucidate the physiological and molecular mechanisms that contribute to the development of salt tolerance in two pepper species (Capsicum baccatum (moderate salt tolerant) and Capsicum chinense (salt sensitive)) through a transcriptome and weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) approach to provide detailed insights. A continuous increase in malondialdehyde (MDA) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) levels in C. chinense and higher activities of catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and peroxidase (POD) in C. baccatum indicated more tissue damage in C. chinense than in C. baccatum. In transcriptome analysis, we identified 39 DEGs related to salt stress. Meanwhile, KEGG pathway analysis revealed enrichment of MAPK and hormone signaling pathways, with six DEGs each. Through WGCNA, the ME.red module was identified as positively correlated. Moreover, 10 genes, A-ARR (CQW23_24856), CHIb (CQW23_04881), ERF1b (CQW23_08898), PP2C (CQW23_15893), ABI5 (CQW23_29948), P450 (CQW23_16085), Aldedh1 (CQW23_06433), GDA (CQW23_12764), Aldedh2 (CQW23_14182), and Aldedh3 (CQW23_11481), were validated by qRT-PCR. This study provides valuable insights into the genetic mechanisms underlying salt stress tolerance in pepper. It offers potential targets for future breeding efforts to enhance salt stress resilience in this crop.

Multidrug-resistant Escherichia coli (MDR-E. coli) is a global health concern. Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) are important probiotics that have beneficial effects on health, and in recent years, their influences in preventing foodborne pathogens-induced colitis have attracted much attention. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the oral administration of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum NWAFU-BIO-BS29 as an emerging approach to alleviate MDR-E. coli-induced colitis in BALB/c mice model. To illustrate the mode of action of NWAFU-BIO-BS29 interventions with the gut microbiota and immune responses, the changes on the colonic mucosal barrier, regulatory of the gene expressions of inflammatory cytokines, re-modulating the intestinal microflora, and changes in physiological parameters were studied. The results indicated that daily supplementation of 200 µL fresh bacteria for 7 days had ameliorated the associated colitis and partially prevented the infection. The modes of action by ameliorating the inflammatory response, which destructed villous and then affected the intestinal barrier integrity, reducing the secretion of interleukins (6 and ß) and tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α) in serum by 87.88-89.93%, 30.73-35.98%, and 19.14-22.32%, respectively, enhancing the expressions of some epithelial integrity-related proteins in the mouse mucous layer of mucins 2 and 3, Claudin-1, and Occludin by 130.00-661.85%, 27.64-57.35%, 75.52-162.51%, and 139.36-177.73%, respectively, and 56.09-73.58% for toll-like receptor (TLR4) in colon tissues. Notably, the mouse gut microbiota analysis showed an increase in the relative abundance of beneficial bacteria, including Lactobacillus, Bacteriodales bacterium, Candidatus Saccharimonas, Enterorhabdus, and Bacilli. Furthermore, the probiotic promoted the proliferation of epithelia and goblet cells by increasing short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) levels by 19.23-31.39%. In conclusion, L. plantarum NWAFU-BIO-BS29 has potential applications and can be considered a safe dietary supplement to ameliorate the colitis inflammation symptoms of MDR-E. coli infection.

Skin psoriasis is defined as receiving external stimulation to activate skin dendritic cells (DCs) which can release interleukin 23 (IL-23) to interlink the innate and adaptive immunity as well as induce T helper 17 (Th17) cell differentiation leading to elevated production of interleukin 17 (IL-17) for keratinocytes over production. This autoimmune loop in psoriasis pathogenesis is influenced by G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) signalling transduction, and in particular, function of adhesion molecule GPR97 in psoriasis endures to be utterly addressed. In this research, our team allocated GPR97 depletion (GPR97-/-), GPR97 conditional depletion on dendritic cell (DC-cKO), and keratin 14-conditional knockout (K14-cKO) mice models to explore the function of GPR97 which influences keratinocytes and skin immunity. It was found that significantly aggravated psoriasis-like lesion in GPR97-/- mice. In addition, hyperproliferative keratinocytes as well as accumulation of DCs and Th17 cells were detected in imiquimod (IMQ)-induced GPR97-/- mice, which was consistent with the results in DC-cKO and K14-cKO psoriasis model. Additional investigations indicated that beclomethasone dipropionate (BDP), an agonist of GPR97, attenuated the psoriasis-like skin disease and restricted HaCaT cells abnormal proliferation as well as Th17 cells differentiation. Particularly, we found that level of NF-κB p65 was increased in GPR97-/- DCs and BDP could inhibit p65 activation in DCs. Role of GPR97 is indispensable and this adhesion receptor may affect immune cell enrichment and function in skin and alter keratinocytes proliferation as well as differentiation in psoriasis.

Livestock manure harbors antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), and aerobic composting (AC) is widely adopted for waste management. However, mitigating ARG resurgence in later stages remains challenging. This work aims to curb ARGs rebounding through a Fenton-like reaction during food waste and swine manure co-composting. Results revealed that 0.025 % zerovalent iron (ZVI) + 0.5 % hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) facilitated maximum ARG, mobile genetic elements (MGEs), and 16 s rRNA removal with reductions of 2.68, 2.69, and 1.4 logs. Spectroscopic analysis confirmed Fenton-like reaction and cell apoptosis analysis indicated that 0.025 % ZVI and 0.5 % H2O2 treatment had the maximum early apoptosis, least observed, and normal cells on day 30. Redundancy analysis highlighted the influence of bacterial communities and physicochemical properties on ARGs, with MGEs playing a crucial role in Fenton treatments. Our findings suggest incorporating ZVI and H2O2 in composting can significantly reduce ARGs and enhance waste management practices.

The concurrent impact of anthropogenic and bioclimatic factors on biodiversity is a key focus in macroecological and biogeographical considerations in conservation programs within riverine ecosystems. However, there is still a lack of understanding about how multidimensional alpha and beta diversity measures respond to anthropogenic and bioclimatic drivers. Here, we assess the variations in taxonomic, phylogenetic, and functional alpha and beta diversity of riverine macroinvertebrate communities across different watersheds in China. Our results show significant declines in most facets of alpha diversity across watersheds with low environmental heterogeneity, reflecting the loss of species with unique traits and evolutionary legacies. Both functional and phylogenetic beta-diversity values reveal a decreasing pattern along low heterogeneity environments, whereas taxonomic beta-diversity shows a contrasting pattern, which highlights the influence of microhabitat variation. Moreover, our findings identify nutrient levels, organic matter, water quality indicators, climatic variation, and geographic and habitat characteristics as key determinants of diversity patterns that are indicative of broader water pollution challenges. These factors jointly influence functional and phylogenetic alpha diversity and contribute to spatial homogenization, which is reflected in decreased functional and phylogenetic beta diversity. These trends highlight the complex interactions of chemical and physical factors in shaping biodiversity characteristics across watersheds. Based on the null model, macroinvertebrate communities primarily show random patterns, whereas clustering and overdispersion were sporadically observed in specific communities. We propose that conservation and restoration efforts should be aimed at enhancing aquatic biomes by managing extreme environmental conditions and amplifying spatial spillover, thereby supporting the intrinsic dynamics within natural metasystems and thus preserving the multidimensional aspects of biodiversity.

This context summarizes a detail on the fabrication of Acacia senegal Gum Hydrogel (ASGh) within well-engineered microemulsion, and thereafter chemical modification for environmental remediation. In brief, Divinylsulfone was used to crosslink polymeric chains and produce ASGh in ˂50 µm size within the reverse-microemulsion of Natrium-bis-(2-ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinate in gasoline. ASGh were subjected to chemical modification via versatile diethylenetriamine to produce m-[ASGh] for adsorptive removal of methyl orange (MO), eosin Y (EY) and congo red (CR) from waste-water. ASGh and m-[ASGh] were characterized through Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), and zeta potential measurements. For instance, FT-IR spectra depicted new bands upon Diethylenetriamine modification. The zeta potential measurements confirm a positively charged surface of m-[ASGh] upon Diethylenetriamine addition. Interestingly, 0.05 g m-[ASGh] demonstrated 91.0, 84.1, and 73.0 % removal efficiency towards MO, EY and CR, respectively in 2 h equilibrium time. Langmuir, Freundlich and modified-Freundlich isotherms were applied to further delineate adsorption data. Modified-Freundlich model depicted comparatively more agreeable fit, and delivered R2 value nearer to unity. Further, 143 mg·g-1, 130 mg·g-1 and, 116 mg·g-1 maximum adsorption capacity (QM) was represented by m-[ASGh] towards MO, EY and CR, respectively in 2 h. Interestingly, real water sample were tested whereby, the QM against MO, EY and CR was 146 mg·g-1, 132 mg·g-1 and, 111 mg·g-1, respectively in 2 h equilibrium time. To conclude, m-[ASGh] could be treated as decolorizing agent in real waste-water polluted through negatively charged organic pollutants, particularly MO.

Migraine is characterized by recurrent headaches of moderate-to-severe intensity and poses a significant challenge for medical students. This is a narrative literature review using PubMed and Scopus databases. This study examines how common migraine is in this group and suggests working together to address how it affects students' well-being and chances of succeeding as a medical professional in the future. Early diagnosis by licensed medical specialists is essential for effective management of migraine. To address this, the authors propose a multifaceted strategy. By including direct education on migraines in medical school curricula, future doctors will be better prepared to treat patients with comparable problems and manage their own migraines. Students with migraines can also benefit greatly from creating a supportive learning environment through staff training, accommodating academic policies, and providing easily available healthcare resources. In addition, this technology may be helpful. Apps for relaxation and migraine tracking can help students better manage their condition. Long-term success requires cooperation among all parties. By promoting cooperation among medical schools, student associations, healthcare practitioners, and governmental organizations, the authors can raise public awareness of migraine, make pertinent resources easier to access, and create evidence-based solutions specially designed to meet the needs of medical students who experience migraine. In the end, putting student well-being first and working together to put these solutions into practice can enable aspiring doctors to succeed at both personal and professional levels.

Automated misting systems are a convenient way for homeowners or small businesses to control adult mosquitoes. One such system was presented to the Anastasia Mosquito Control District (AMCD) for evaluation to control caged Aedes aegypti. The system consisted of 3 spray tanks, 2 pumps, water level sensors, and flow meters, and was controlled through an Android tablet loaded with dedicated control software. The evaluation of the system included calibration tests, droplet characterization, spray dispersion in the open field, and effectiveness testing using bio-assay cages for mortality assessment. For these tests, a loop of 14 nozzles 4 m apart was connected and held at 1 m height utilizing a total of 120 m tube. All nozzles were arranged in a 16 × 12 m rectangle laid in the East-West direction. Water was sprayed for calibration and droplet size measurements at pressures of 13.0, 15.5, and 18 bar; water and 10 % red dye solution for spray dispersion at 18 bar pressure, and 0.17 % solution of equalizer 20-20 was sprayed at 18 bar pressure for mortality tests. All 3 replicated tests were conducted in the morning between 9:00 and 11:30am. During this time, temperature ranged from 21 to 26 °C, relative humidity from 54 to 95%, and wind speed from 0 - 2 km/hr. The combined flow rate from all 14 nozzles was significantly affected by pressure and was in agreement with the machine-calculated flow rate. There was a similar flow rate from all nozzles, indicated by a standard error of 0.82 mL/min. The droplet characteristics represented by DV0.1, DV0.5, and DV0.9 were not affected by nozzles but decreased with an increase in pressure as expected. The percentage of coverage on the cards, an indicator of spray dispersion, ranged from 20 -100%, and it was found to increase in the direction of the wind. Mosquito mortality showed a similar trend of increasing in the wind direction and ranged from 30 to 100 %. There was no effect of the location of cages on mosquito mortality. These results indicate that the effectiveness of this spray depends upon wind direction. The results, however, may be different when there is no wind, which may be the case during the times these applications are made.
