Colourless needle-shaped crystals of the title compound, (C(26)H(21)BrOP)(2)[Hg(2)Br(6)], have been prepared by addition of a solution of HgBr(2) in methanol to a solution of (4-bromo-benzoyl-meth-yl)triphenyl-phospho-rane in dry methanol.
