This study aims to analyze and evaluate the comparative clinical outcomes associated with microvascular decompression (MVD) and gamma knife radiosurgery (GKRS), focusing on pain relief, pain recurrence, and complications encountered in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia (TN). Among 155 surgical procedures performed for TN (90 GKRS, and 65 MVD) between March 1997 and December 2020, the exclusion criteria encompassed prior surgical interventions, the presence of other pathological conditions such as tumors, vascular diseases, and multiple sclerosis, as well as patients who were lost to follow-up. Ultimately, 101 patients received their initial treatment for primary TN (47 GKRS, and 54 MVD) and were followed up for more than 1 year. The MVD procedures utilized the suboccipital retrosigmoid sinus approach, whereas GKRS was conducted with MR imaging guidance, employing a single 4mm isocenter, with median GKRS doses of 80 Gy. We retrospectively analyzed patient characteristics, including sites of divisions, distributions of pain, and clinical outcomes. The assessment of outcomes was performed utilizing the Barrow Neurological Institute Pain Intensity Score and the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), with evaluations taking place preoperatively and after 1, 3, 6 and 12 months. Postoperative VAS scores for patients undergoing either MVD or GKRS demonstrated a significant improvement when compared with their preoperative counterparts. The reduction in postoperative VAS scores within the MVD group was significantly more substantial than that observed in patients who underwent GKRS at the initial postoperative evaluations (P = .037). The maintenance of pain relief after MVD proved significantly superior to that following GKRS (P < .01). Both MVD and GKRS present as safe and efficacious therapeutic options for individuals diagnosed with primary TN, though MVD displayed superior initial outcomes in terms of pain relief and its maintenance. However, for older patients or those with medical contraindications to invasive procedures, GKRS emerges as a viable and less invasive alternative for initial treatment in cases of primary TN.

Breaking the limitations of the urban perspective, there is an urgent need to study the influence of the village environment on the willingness of rural households to resettle. This paper explored the determinants and the mechanism of village environment factors on resettlement willingness using full-sample survey data (872,414 households) of 1382 administrative villages in Huai'an, a typical agricultural area in Eastern China. The result revealed that environmental factors generally have a greater impact on the spatial heterogeneity of resettlement willingness, in the order of natural environment, economic environment, social environment, and policy environment; among which geographic location, housing conditions, behavioral tendency of farmers and planning guidance are the key factors. In addition, the absolute location of the urban area in the geographic region has a significantly greater effect than that of the county, and the "following behavior" of the farmers affected their resettlement decision. Therefore, differentiated policies should be formulated according to the spatial distribution of the resettlement willingness, building a dual-core village and town system within the county.

BACKGROUND: While significant research exists on gut microbiota changes after anti-tumor necrosis factor-alpha (anti TNF-α) therapy for ulcerative colitis, little is known about the longitudinal changes related to the effects of anti TNF-α. This study aimed to investigate the dynamics of gut microbiome changes during anti TNF-α (adalimumab) therapy in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC). RESULTS: The microbiota composition was affected by the disease severity and extent in patients with UC. Regardless of clinical remission status at each time point, patients with UC exhibited microbial community distinctions from healthy controls. Distinct amplicon sequence variants (ASVs) differences were identified throughout the course of Adalimumab (ADA) treatment at each time point. A notable reduction in gut microbiome dissimilarity was observed only in remitters. Remitters demonstrated a decrease in the relative abundances of Burkholderia-Caballeronia-Paraburkholderia and Staphylococcus as the treatment progressed. Additionally, there was an observed increase in the relative abundances of Bifidobacterium and Dorea. Given the distribution of the 48 ASVs with high or low relative abundances in the pre-treatment samples according to clinical remission at week 8, a clinical remission at week 8 with a sensitivity and specificity of 72.4% and 84.3%, respectively, was predicted on the receiver operating characteristic curve (area under the curve, 0.851). CONCLUSIONS: The gut microbiota undergoes diverse changes according to the treatment response during ADA treatment. These changes provide insights into predicting treatment responses to ADA and offer new therapeutic targets for UC.

BACKGROUND: Adaptive therapy has been enormously improved based on the art of generating adaptive computed tomography (ACT) from planning CT (PCT) and the on-board image used for the patient setup. Exploiting the ACT, this study evaluated the dose delivered to patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients treated with stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) and derived relationship between the delivered dose and the parameters obtained through the evaluation procedure. METHODS: SABR treatment records of 72 patients with NSCLC who were prescribed a dose of 60 Gy (Dprescribed) to the 95% volume of the planning target volume (PTV) in four fractions were analysed in this retrospective study; 288 ACTs were generated by rigid and deformable registration of a PCT to a cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) per fraction. Each ACT was sent to the treatment planning system (TPS) and treated as an individual PCT to calculate the dose. Delivered dose to a patient was estimated by averaging four doses calculated from four ACTs per treatment. Through the process, each ACT provided the geometric parameters, such as mean displacement of the deformed PTV voxels (Warpmean) and Dice similarity coefficient (DSC) from deformation vector field, and dosimetric parameters, e.g. difference of homogeneity index (ΔHI, HI defined as (D2%-D98%)/Dprescribed*100) and mean delivered dose to the PTV (Dmean), obtained from the dose statistics in the TPS. Those parameters were analyzed using multiple linear regression and one-way-ANOVA of SPSS® (version 27). RESULTS: The prescribed dose was confirmed to be fully delivered to internal target volume (ITV) within maximum difference of 1%, and the difference between the planned and delivered doses to the PTV was agreed within 6% for more than 95% of the ACT cases. Volume changes of the ITV during the treatment course were observed to be minor in comparison of their standard deviations. Multiple linear regression analysis between the obtained parameters and the dose delivered to 95% volume of the PTV (D95%) revealed four PTV parameters [Warpmean, DSC, ΔHI between the PCT and ACT, Dmean] and the PTV D95% to be significantly related with P-values < 0.05. The ACT cases of high ΔHI were caused by higher values of the Warpmean and DSC from the deformable image registration, resulting in lower PTV D95% delivered. The mean values of PTV D95% and Warpmean showed significant differences depending on the lung lobe where the tumour was located. CONCLUSIONS: Evaluation of the dose delivered to patients with NSCLC treated with SABR using ACTs confirmed that the prescribed dose was accurately delivered to the ITV. However, for the PTV, certain ACT cases characterised by high HI deviations from the original plan demonstrated variations in the delivered dose. These variations may potentially arise from factors such as patient setup during treatment, as suggested by the statistical analyses of the parameters obtained from the dose evaluation process.

Electrochemical hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) production via two-electron oxygen reduction reaction (2e- ORR) has received increasing attention as it enables clean, sustainable, and on-site H2O2 production. Mimicking the active site structure of H2O2 production enzymes, such as nickel superoxide dismutase, is the most intuitive way to design efficient 2e- ORR electrocatalysts. However, Ni-based catalysts have thus far shown relatively low 2e- ORR activity. In this work, we present the design of high-performing, atomically dispersed Ni-based catalysts (Ni ADCs) for H2O2 production through understanding the formation chemistry of the Ni-based active sites. The use of a precoordinated precursor and pyrolysis within a confined nanospace were found to be essential for generating active Ni-N x sites in high density and increasing carbon yields, respectively. A series of model catalysts prepared from coordinating solvents having different vapor pressures gave rise to Ni ADCs with controlled ratios of Ni-N x sites and Ni nanoparticles, which revealed that the Ni-N x sites have greater 2e- ORR activity. Another set of Ni ADCs identified the important role of the degree of distortion from the square planar structure in H2O2 electrosynthesis activity. The optimized catalyst exhibited a record H2O2 electrosynthesis mass activity with excellent H2O2 selectivity.

Electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) to produce value-added multi-carbon chemicals has been an appealing approach to achieving environmentally friendly carbon neutrality in recent years. Despite extensive research focusing on the use of CO2 to produce high-value chemicals like high-energy-density hydrocarbons, there have been few reports on the production of propane (C3H8), which requires carbon chain elongation and protonation. A rationally designed 0D/2D hybrid Cu2O anchored-Ti3C2Tx MXene catalyst (Cu2O/MXene) is demonstrated with efficient CO2RR activity in an aqueous electrolyte to produce C3H8. As a result, a significantly high Faradaic efficiency (FE) of 3.3% is achieved for the synthesis of C3H8 via the CO2RR with Cu2O/MXene, which is ≈26 times higher than that of Cu/MXene prepared by the same hydrothermal process without NH4OH solution. Based on in-situ attenuated total reflection-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR) and density functional theory (DFT) calculations, it is proposed that the significant electrocatalytic conversion originated from the synergistic behavior of the Cu2O nanoparticles, which bound the *C2 intermediates, and the MXene that bound the *CO coupling to the C3 intermediate. The results disclose that the rationally designed MXene-based hybrid catalyst facilitates multi-carbon coupling as well as protonation, thereby manipulating the CO2RR pathway.

BACKGROUND: Tofacitinib is an oral Janus kinase inhibitor for the treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC). We aimed to identify the safety and effectiveness of tofacitinib in patients with UC in routine clinical settings in Korea. METHODS: This open-label, observational, prospective, post-marketing surveillance study was conducted at 22 hospitals in the Republic of Korea. Patients with moderate to severe active UC who received tofacitinib were included and followed up for up to 52 weeks. Tofacitinib was administered at a dosage of 10 mg twice daily for at least 8 weeks, followed by 5 or 10 mg twice daily at the investigator's discretion based on clinical evaluation according to the approved Korean label. Safety including adverse events (AEs) and effectiveness including clinical remission, clinical response, and endoscopic mucosal healing were evaluated. Safety analysis set was defined as all patients registered for this study who received at least one dose of tofacitinib according to the approved Korean label and followed up for safety data. Effectiveness analysis set included patients in the safety analysis set who were evaluated for overall effectiveness assessment and excluded patients who had received tofacitinib less than 8 weeks. RESULTS: A total of 110 patients were enrolled, of whom 106 patients were included in the safety population. The median duration of treatment was 370 days and the treatment duration ranged from 16 to 684 days for the safety population. AEs occurred in 42 patients (39.6%). Serious AEs (SAEs) occurred in 7 patients (6.6%) and of them, there were 2 cases of serious infections. These serious infections were reported as Adverse Event of Special Interest (AESI) in this study and no other AESI were reported. There were no cases of death during the study period. Clinical remission rates were 40.0%, 46.7%, 57.6%, and 55.1% at 8, 16, 24, and 52 weeks, and clinical response rates were 77.8%, 87.9%, 56.6%, and 81.4% at each visit, respectively. Endoscopic mucosal healing rates were 58.7% at 16 weeks and 46.2% at 52 weeks. CONCLUSION: Tofacitinib was effective in Korean patients with moderate to severe active UC and the safety findings were consistent with the known safety profile of tofacitinib. This study confirmed the safety and effectiveness of tofacitinib in Korean patients with moderate to severe active UC in routine clinical settings. TRIAL REGISTRATION: This study is registered in the ClinicalTrials.gov under the identifier NCT04071405, registered on 28 August 2019.

BACKGROUND: This study aimed to evaluate the biodistribution of 64Cu-DOTA-rituximab and its diagnostic feasibility for lymphoma using CD20-targeted 64Cu-DOTA-rituximab PET/computed tomography (PET/CT). METHODS: A prospective study involving six patients diagnosed with lymphoma was conducted between January 2022 and January 2023. These patients underwent 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) and 64Cu-DOTA-rituximab PET/CT scans. 64Cu-DOTA-rituximab PET/CT images were acquired at 1, 24, and 48 h after administering 64Cu-DOTA-rituximab to assess the biodistribution and dosimetry over time. The observed lymph nodes were categorized into specific regions, including cervical and supraclavicular, axillary and infraclavicular, mediastinal, hilar, abdominal paraaortic and retroperitoneal, iliac, mesenteric, and inguinal regions, to compare the diagnostic ability of 18F-FDG and 64Cu-DOTA-rituximab PET/CT in detecting lymphoma lesions. Furthermore, the tumor-to-background ratio was calculated and compared with the maximum standardized uptake (SUVmax) of the tumors and the mean standardized uptake (SUVmean) of normal organs. Internal radiation dosimetry was determined using the OLINDA/EXM software. RESULTS: 64Cu-DOTA-rituximab uptake in lymph nodes associated with lymphoma progressively increased from 1 to 48 h after injection. In contrast, 64Cu-DOTA-rituximab uptake in normal organs, such as blood, lung, kidney, bladder, muscle, bone, and brain, decreased over time, whereas it increased in the liver and spleen. When it comes to the comparison between 64Cu-DOTA-rituximab and 18F-FDG, the SUVmax of tumors was higher on 64Cu-DOTA-rituximab PET/CT (18.1 ±â€…8.3) than on 18F-FDG PET/CT (5.2 ±â€…1.5). Additionally, the tumor-to-background ratio, measured using the SUVmean of normal muscles, was higher on 64Cu-DOTA-rituximab PET/CT (55.7 ±â€…31.0) than on 18F-FDG PET/CT (8.6 ±â€…2.8). No adverse events related to 64Cu-DOTA-rituximab injection were reported. CONCLUSION: The results of this study demonstrate the feasibility of using 64Cu-DOTA-rituximab PET/CT to evaluate the CD20 expression. The increased 64Cu-DOTA-rituximab uptake in lymph nodes associated with tumors, higher SUVmax, and tumor-to-muscle ratios observed with 64Cu-DOTA-rituximab PET/CT compared with 18F-FDG PET/CT, highlight the diagnostic potential of this imaging modality.

Purpose: This study aimed to report the overall national trends in the rates of cancer screening based on recommendations and provide insights into the changing trends of these rates across different demographics. Materials and Methods: This study used data from the Korean National Cancer Screening Survey (KNCSS), which surveys nationwide cancer-screening rates and includes 4,500 individuals meeting the Korean National Cancer Screening Program (NCSP) protocol age criteria. Cancer-screening rates were assessed using structured questionnaires; yearly trends were analyzed for both lifetime cancer-screening rates and rates of screening based on recommendations, and subgroup analyses were performed based on age and sex. Results: The rates of cancer screening based on recommendations showed significant increments: the stomach cancer-screening rate increased from 39.2% in 2004 to 77.5% in 2023 (3.50% per year), the liver cancer-screening rate increased from 20.0% to 48.8% (4.30% per year), and the colorectal cancer, increased from 19.9% to 70.7% (5.15% per year). The breast cancer-screening rate increased from 33.2% to 72.7% (2.88% per year), and the cervical cancer, increased from 58.3% to 70.2% (1.08% per year). Despite some differences, particularly in relation to sociodemographic factors, screening rates increased significantly for all cancer types. Conclusion: Cancer-screening rates in Korea increased consistently from 2004 to 2023, demonstrating the effectiveness of the national cancer-screening program. However, the increments in breast, cervical and lung cancer-screening rates were relatively lower, indicating the need for additional efforts and strategies.

BACKGROUND: This study investigated the safety and effectiveness of ustekinumab (UST) in Korean patients with Crohn's disease (CD). METHODS: Adult patients with CD treated with UST were prospectively enrolled in the K-STAR (Post-MarKeting Surveillance for Crohn's Disease patients treated with STelARa) study between April 2018 and April 2022. Both the clinical effectiveness and adverse effects of UST therapy were analyzed. Missing data were handled using nonresponder imputation (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT03942120). RESULTS: Of the 464 patients enrolled from 44 hospitals across Korea, 457 and 428 patients (Crohn's disease activity index ≥150) were included in the safety analysis and effectiveness analysis sets, respectively. At weeks 16 to 20 after initiating UST, clinical response, clinical remission, and corticosteroid-free remission rates were 75.0% (321 of 428), 64.0% (274 of 428), and 61.9% (265 of 428), respectively. At week 52 to 66, clinical response, clinical remission, and corticosteroid-free remission rates were 62.4% (267 of 428), 52.6% (225 of 428), and 50.0% (214 of 428), respectively. Combined effectiveness (clinical response + biochemical response) was achieved in 40.0% (171 of 428) and 41.6% (178 of 428) at week 16 to 20 and week 52 to 66, respectively. Biologic-naïve patients exhibited significantly higher rates of combined effectiveness than biologic-experienced patients (50.3% vs 30.7% at week 16-20, P < .001; 47.7% vs 36.0% at week 52-66, P = .014). No additional benefits were observed with the concomitant use of immunomodulators. Ileal location was independently associated with a higher probability of clinical remission compared with colonic or ileocolonic location at week 52 to 66. Adverse and serious adverse events were observed in 28.2% (129 of 457) and 12.7% (58 of 457), respectively, with no new safety signal associated with UST treatment. CONCLUSIONS: Ustekinumab was well-tolerated, effective, and safe as induction and maintenance therapy for CD in Korea.


Ustekinumab was well-tolerated and safe for Koran patients with Crohn's disease with no new safety signal as induction and maintenance therapy. Biologic-naïve patients exhibited better effectiveness outcomes, whereas combination therapy with immunomodulators was not superior to ustekinumab monotherapy.

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the learning curve of hand-assisted laparoscopic living donor nephrectomy (HLDN) conducted by a trained gastrointestinal surgeon. Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on the perioperative clinical data of 96 consecutive patients who underwent HLDN from May 2013 to March 2023. The learning curve was evaluated using the cumulative sum (CUSUM) test based on operation time and risk-adjusted CUSUM for postoperative complications. Patients were divided into three groups (novice, development, and competency phases) based on changes in operation time. Patient demographics and perioperative outcomes were compared between each group. Results: Among the patients, 35 were male, with a mean age of 48.9 ± 11.3 years and a mean body mass index (BMI) of 24.5 ± 3.2 kg/m2. The novice phase (phase 1) included the first 30 cases, with the development phase (phase 2) up to the 65th case. Operation times were significantly different across phases, averaging 263.2 ± 33.4, 211.1 ± 34.4, and 161.1 ± 31.3 minutes for phases 1, 2, and 3, respectively (P < 0.001). Blood loss decreased gradually across phases (phase 1, 264.7 ± 144.4 mL; phase 2, 239.7 ± 166.3 mL; phase 3, 198.8 ± 103.5 mL), though not statistically significant. BMI impacted operation time only in phase 1. Overall postoperative complications occurred in 13 cases (Clavien-Dindo grade I, 4 cases; grade II, 9 cases), with no significant differences across phases. Conclusion: HLDN can be safely performed by a trained gastrointestinal surgeon, with approximately 30 cases needed to achieve proficiency.

We develop color-encoded multicompartmental hydrogel (MH) microspheres tailored for multiplexed bioassays using a drop-based microfluidic approach. Our method involves the creation of triple emulsion drops that feature thin sacrificial oil layers separating two prepolymer phases. This configuration leads to the formation of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) multi-compartmental core-shell microspheres through photopolymerization, followed by the removal of the thin oil layers. The core compartments stably incorporate pigments, ensuring their retention within the hydrogel network without leakage, which facilitates reliable color encoding across varying spatial positions. Additionally, we introduce small molecule fluorescent labeling into the chemically functionalized shell compartments, achieving consistent distribution of functional components without the core's contamination. Importantly, our integrated one-pot conjugation of these color-encoded microspheres with affinity peptides enables the highly sensitive and selective detection of influenza virus antigens using a fluorescence bioassay, resulting in an especially low detection limit of 0.18 nM and 0.66 nM for influenza virus H1N1 and H5N1 antigens, respectively. This approach not only highlights the potential of our microspheres in clinical diagnostics but also paves the way for their application in a wide range of multiplexed assays.

RESUMEN

Electron energy-loss spectroscopy (EELS) is widely used in analyzing the electronic structure of inorganic materials at high spatial resolution. In this study, we use a monochromator to improve the energy resolution, allowing us to analyze the electronic structure of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) materials with greater precision. This study demonstrates the use of the energy-loss near-edge structure to map the nitrogen content of organic molecules and identify the distinct bonding characteristics of aromatic carbon and pyridinic nitrogen. Furthermore, we integrate EELS with time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry for molecular mapping of three different bilayers composed of OLED materials. This approach allows us to successfully map functional groups in the by-layer OLED and measure the thickness of two OLED layers. This study introduces spatially resolved functional group analysis using electron beam spectroscopy and contributes to the development of methods for complete nanoscale analysis of organic multilayer architectures.

In next-generation neuromorphic computing applications, the primary challenge lies in achieving energy-efficient and reliable memristors while minimizing their energy consumption to a level comparable to that of biological synapses. In this work, hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN)-based metal-insulator-semiconductor (MIS) memristors operating is presented at the attojoule-level tailored for high-performance artificial neural networks. The memristors benefit from a wafer-scale uniform h-BN resistive switching medium grown directly on a highly doped Si wafer using metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD), resulting in outstanding reliability and low variability. Notably, the h-BN-based memristors exhibit exceptionally low energy consumption of attojoule levels, coupled with fast switching speed. The switching mechanisms are systematically substantiated by electrical and nano-structural analysis, confirming that the h-BN layer facilitates the resistive switching with extremely low high resistance states (HRS) and the native SiOx on Si contributes to suppressing excessive current, enabling attojoule-level energy consumption. Furthermore, the formation of atomic-scale conductive filaments leads to remarkably fast response times within the nanosecond range, and allows for the attainment of multi-resistance states, making these memristors well-suited for next-generation neuromorphic applications. The h-BN-based MIS memristors hold the potential to revolutionize energy consumption limitations in neuromorphic devices, bridging the gap between artificial and biological synapses.

Placeness is believed to play a significant role in enhancing the well-being and place-use of individuals, contributing profoundly to how spaces are experienced and interacted with. Despite its perceived importance, there is ongoing debate and insufficient clarity about how exactly placeness influences people's behavior. This study aims to bridge this gap by theorizing and investigating the pathways from placeness to people's behavioral intentions, emphasizing the roles of personal place attachment and public place image as pivotal mediators in this relationship. To explore these dynamics, we conducted a survey in Japan, examining the complex interplay between placeness and behavioral intentions, given their rich cultural heritage and modern urban pressures. We employed the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach for path analysis. The analysis suggests that placeness influences behavioral intention through personal place attachment. While placeness does affect public place image, this public image does not have an impact on behavioral intention. The results demonstrated that an individual's activities, experiences, and cognition of a place are significant factors in creating the intention to engage in word-of-mouth, recommendation, and revisiting behaviors. Policymakers, urban planners, and designers need to understand how to foster people's behavioral intentions when creating a place imbued with placeness.

All-solid-state batteries (ASSBs) possess the advantage of ensuring safety while simultaneously maximizing energy density, making them suitable for next-generation battery models. In particular, sulfide solid electrolytes (SSEs) are viewed as promising candidates for ASSB electrolytes due to their excellent ionic conductivity. However, a limitation exists in the form of interfacial side reactions occurring between the SSEs and cathode active materials (CAMs), as well as the generation of sulfide-based gases within the SSE. These issues lead to a reduction in the capacity of CAMs and an increase in internal resistance within the cell. To address these challenges, cathode composite materials incorporating zinc oxide (ZnO) are fabricated, effectively reducing various side reactions occurring in CAMs. Acting as a semiconductor, ZnO helps mitigate the rapid oxidation of the solid electrolyte facilitated by an electronic pathway, thereby minimizing side reactions, while maintaining electron pathways to the active material. Additionally, it absorbs sulfide-based gases, thus protecting the lithium ions within CAMs. In this study, the mass spectrometer is employed to observe gas generation phenomena within the ASSB cell. Furthermore, a clear elucidation of the side reactions occurring at the cathode and the causes of capacity reduction in ASSB are provided through density functional theory calculations.

This study examines the relationship between different types of new town development and their impact on commuting patterns. It provides an empirical analysis of how development in Technopole Newtown and Residential Newtown influences commuting time and distance. Technopole Newtown is characterized by a blend of technological institutional clusters and residential development, while Residential Newtown primarily emphasizes residential development. Seoul Metropolitan Area was chosen as the case study, with data sourced from the Household Travel Survey. This study reveals a surprising commuting paradox in Technopole Newtown, where the plan was to blend job opportunities with residential development. The findings indicate that commuters did not benefit. Instead, they endured longer commutes in both time and distance compared to those in Residential Newtown, which is typically characterized as a bedroom community. The integration of job opportunities for the development of new towns should be considered a crucial factor in creating urban sustainability in the future.

Purpose: Recent development in perioperative treatment of resectable non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) have changed the landscape of early lung cancer management. The ADAURA trial has demonstrated the efficacy of adjuvant osimertinib treatment in resectable NSCLC patients; however, studies are required to show which subgroup of patients are at a high risk of relapse and require adjuvant epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) treatment. This study evaluated risk factors for postoperative relapse among patients who underwent complete resection. Materials and Methods: Data were obtained from the Korean Association for Lung Cancer Registry (KALC-R), a database created using a retrospective sampling survey by the Korean Central Cancer Registry (KCCR) and the Lung Cancer Registration Committee. Results: A total of 3,176 patients who underwent curative resection was evaluated. The mean observation time was approximately 35.4 months. Among stage I to IIIA NSCLC patients, the EGFR-mutant subgroup included 867 patients, and 75.2%, 11.2%, and 11.8% were classified as stage I, stage II, and stage III, respectively. Within the EGFR-mutant subgroup, 44 (5.1%) and 121 (14.0%) patients showed early and late recurrence, respectively. Multivariate analysis on association with postoperative relapse among the EGFR-mutant subgroup showed that age, pathologic N and TNM stages, pleural invasion status, and surgery type were independent significant factors. Conclusion: Among the population that underwent complete resection for early NSCLC with EGFR mutation, patients with advanced stage, pleural invasion, or limited resection are more likely to show postoperative relapse.

Goal: This study presents a novel MRI coil design approach explicitly tailored for chick embryo measurements, with the primary objective of improving sensitivity and coverage. Methods: The limitations posed by conventional birdcage coils were addressed by introducing a curvature feature into a standard coil. The performance of the modified coil was assessed using EM simulations and experimental evaluations, which were subsequently validated using a 7 T MRI scanner. A comparative analysis was conducted against a standard quadrature low-pass birdcage coil to evaluate key factors. Results: The proposed coil demonstrated improved SNR and uniformity, particularly in the proximity of the end-rings. These results were consistent with the findings obtained from the simulations. Conclusions: The use of our innovative birdcage coil design holds promise and offers practical potential for in ovo studies.
