RESUMEN

The effect of Kamchatka crab hepatopancreas containing three collagenolytic isoenzymes Collagenase KK and proteinases of Streptomyces lavendulae on metabolic activity and cell death were carried out on in vitro models. It was shown that changes in the protein structure under the influence of Collagenase KK occurred earlier than under the effect of bacterial proteinases. At the same time, activity of Collagenase KK was significantly higher than that of bacterial proteinases (p<0.01). Both preparations had a pronounced time- and dose-dependent effects on metabolic activity of cells. Collagenase KK had low cytotoxic effect, and cells mainly died by apoptosis. Thus, hepatopancreas collagenase has a high activity and proapoptotic effect on cells and can be used in low concentrations for enzymatic disaggregation of tissues.

RESUMEN

Aim      Evaluating the redox potential of white blood cells (WBC) in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) depending on the presence or absence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2).Material and methods  The study included 100 men and women aged 35 to 65 years who were managed for ACS at the Primary Vascular Department (PVD) of the Vladivostok Clinical Hospital #1. The control group consisted of 30 healthy volunteers matched with ACS patients in major anthropometric characteristics. Examinations were performed according to clinical recommendations. Blood was withdrawn for measuring cell activity of enzymes (superoxide dismutase, SOD; succinate dehydrogenase, SDH; and glutathione reductase, GR) and serum concentration of malonic dialdehyde (MDA). Based on the ACS type, all patients were divided into 3 main ACS groups, and then the groups were subdivided into subgroups based on the presence of DM2.Results Development of ACS was associated with changes in WBC redox potential. These changes were characterized by a significant decrease in SDH activity in all ACS patients, irrespective of their ACS type, and a moderate decease in GR in patients with myocardial infarction compared to patients with unstable angina and healthy volunteers. At the same time, the SOD activity and MDA concentration were practically unchanged compared to the control group. There were practically no significant differences in the enzyme activities between the ACS subgroups with or without DM2.Conclusion      The WBC activities of SDH and GR on day 1 of ACS can be considered as the indicators for early diagnosis of mitochondrial dysfunction resulting from the cardiovascular catastrophe as well as the markers for impaired primary cell defense. MDA and SOD values are not informative for determining the intensity of oxidative stress and further damage of the antioxidant system.

RESUMEN

The purpose of the study was to determine appropriate diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitation treatments of patients with military-related craniocereberal trauma. We have examined 180 male patients: 100 participant of operations in the Democratic Republic Afghanistan (1979-1989) and 80 - participants of conflict in the east of Ukraine (from 2014 until present) with military-related craniocereberal trauma of varying severity. We used clinical-neurological, instrumental (craniography of skull, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasonic doppler sonography of the main vessels of the head and neck), biochemical, statistical methods of a research, and also questionnaire scale SF-36. It was found that the quality of life of patients with military-related craniocereberal trauma depends on the severity of the wound and the period after trauma. In the early period after military-related craniocereberal trauma of light or average severity, the psychological components are more strongly manifested. Patients with severe military-related craniocereberal trauma have serious physical, psychological and social problems at different periods after trauma. The results of the research show that the quality of life depends on the severity of functional disorders and have impact on adaptive potential of the organism.

RESUMEN

Cranio-cerebral trauma is considered as one of the leading causes of mortality, long-term temporary incapacity for work and disability. The aim of the article is to study distant consequences of the so-called "combat cranio-cerebral injury". 108 male patients - participants of the military actions in Afghanistan were examined. The patients were divided into groups depending on the severity of the injury. The reasons of the development of violations of bioelectric activity of the brain in soldiers who have had a history of traumatic brain injury were analyzed. Patients underwent the EEG and the analysis of the results was carried out. The examination of bioelectric activity of the brain showed that the battle injury is characterized by changes in the frequency and amplitude of the alpha-rhythm, which proves that the dysfunction of non-specific structures of the brain is the consequences of cranio-cerebral injury.

RESUMEN

The authors describe their experience gained with conducting internship training in occupational hygiene for graduating students of medical and prophylaxis departments of medical colleges. Special attention is called to the matter of learning by those engaged in internship studies of practical skills of work of a physician-occupational hygienist relating, in particular, to exercising sanitary inspection, both preventive and running, in industrial settings. Measures were proposed to improve the programme and curriculum to be guided by in conducting the above internship training.

RESUMEN

Biologic action was studied of the silicon nitride powder with varying disperse composition. When producing and using the silicon nitride powder on an enlarged scale one must remember of its higher toxicity and fibrogenicity. There is a need of employing some method of determination of the submicroscopic aerosol disperse composition under industrial conditions.
