RESUMEN

The authors have examined 161 persons from the production of fodder yeasts. On the background of detailed clinical examination are performed immunoallergological studies, including skin allergologic tests with series of standard allergens and antigens of the produced culture yeasts and determined immunoprecipitants in the blood serum. Increased sensibilization is established in 34.7% of the examined, as the prevailing cases are with monoallergy. More seldom--in 18.8% are established immunoprecipitations with the professional allergens. The changed general and specific immunoallergologic reactivity in part of the workers is due exclusively to the biological factors of the working environment.

RESUMEN

The variations in the urinary excretion of half-oxidized metabolites, nonprotein nitrogen and chlorides, serum activities of LDH, MDH and ScDH, liver and kidney himogenates and histomorphologic patterns of liver, kidney and muscle tissue were studied in experimental animals, exposed to high-frequency vibrations - 100 hz. with amplitude 0.1 mm, for 60 days. The probable mechanisms of effect of the vibration factor on urinary half-oxidzed metabolite excretion are discussed. These include increased protein and carbohydrate catabolism, disturbances in the oxidoreduction processes, impairement of oxygen tissue supply, impaired urinary metabolite excretion, ect. It is suggested, after additional examination of haman subjects, to include the parameter "total amount of urinary half-oxidized metabolites" in the complex diagnosis of vibration injury in man.

RESUMEN

The clinical picture and treatment of exacerbated chronic respiratory insufficiency is studied in 189 silicosis patients with different stage and degree of decompensation. It is found out that chronic respiratory insufficiency determination in these patients is conditioned by the exacerbation of a chronic inflammtory process in the bronchi and lungs (68.2 per cent), or by intercurrent acute inflammtory pulmonary process (15.9 per cent). The clinical manifestation of the disease is aggravated and modified by the appearance of new clinical elements, resulting in the typical clinical picture of inflammatory decompensation of silicosis. It is stressed that the effect of treatment is greater, the milder the stage of the disease, and the earlier and less marked the decompensation-induced derangements. Lethality in patients with III degree silicosis amounts to 8,2 per cent, and in patients with III degree respiratory insufficiency -- to 30.7 per cent. A complex active therapy program for silicosis patients with exacerbated chronic respiratory insufficiency is proposed.
