RESUMEN
It is established that in patients with chronic viral hepatitis B and C the intensity of reaction is increased in lymphocytes of children as compared with adults. The study also established the limitation of turning out of substrates for macromolecular synthesis and the decrease of activity of reactions of tricarbonic acid cycle at the expense of decreasing of substrates flow from amino-acid metabolism included. Under chronic hepatitis C, in lymphocytes the levels of activity of enzymes involved in functioning of main metabolic paths and glutathione system of antioxidant defense of are decreased in children as compared with adults.

The results of the study lead to the conclusion that the development of burn disease in children is accompanied by significant lymphocytic structural metabolic changes that determine the functional capabilities of cells and the immune system as a whole. There is an evident activation of the glutathione antioxidant system, a drastic activation of enzymes that ensure Krebs cycle reactions, as well as activation of anaerobic processes. The above changes are mainly caused by the activated sympathoadrenal system that is characteristic of stresses. The knowledge about the metabolic mechanisms responsible for the development of cellular reactions to burn shock and burn disease permits specification of the elements of the pathogenesis of these severe conditions and substantiation of the possibility of using metabolic correction in the complex treatment of children with the above pathology.

The results of cytochemical tests for simultaneous measurements of dehydrogenases and acid phosphatase in blood leukocytes do not differ from the results of the original methods developed by R. P. Nartsissov (1969) and A. Goldberg and T. Bark (1962). Use of this method permits the physician to have simultaneous information about two aspects of metabolism in the cells and cuts down the time needed for measuring the activities of two enzymes in the leukocytes.

To study the mechanisms of immunocompetent cells' response to long-wave laser radiation in male Chinchilla rabbits after in vivo emission (lambda = 632.8 nm; emissive power, 19 mW) for 15 min, lymphocytes and thymocytes were identified in the projection areas of the thymus and femur and the levels of NADP-dependent dehydrogenases were measured. The changes found in the levels of thymocyte NADP-dependent dehydrogenases while exposing the rabbits to radiation in the area of the femur, as well as the area-related differences in the modulating effects of laser radiation on the activity of the lymphocytic enzymes under study indicate the mediated cellular metabolic regulation which is likely to be chiefly affected by the autonomic nervous system in the first postradiation minutes.

Screening in employees of enterprise producing antibiotics has revealed higher occurrence of allergic (39.6%) and gastrointestinal diseases. Some examinees (5.4%) demonstrated immune deficiency, the share of 8.3% were diagnosed as having cardiovascular neurosis. Further investigations involved bioluminescent and cytochemical studies of oxidation-reduction enzymes in white blood cells. Those studies proved lower serum activity of the enzymes in all the examinees including apparently healthy individuals. There was no significant difference between the health and ill employees, apart from the patients with immune deficiency. Ratio of CA to serotonin concentrations in the cells provided the most valuable information, being a diagnostic criterion for the diseases mentioned.

The paper presents the results of studies of the lipid spectrum of blood peripheral lymphocytes, the activities of some dehydrogenases in the cells in males during their adaptation (up to 1.5 years) to polar conditions. There is some dynamics of lymphocytic structural and metabolic parameters, which reflects the functional status of lymphocytes and the regulatory effects of the body on their status during human adaptation to ecologically unfavourable conditions of the Far North.
