RESUMEN

In 1998-1999 years the clinical and functional features of the stomachesophagus reflux disease (SERD) of 240 Chernobyl accident fighters and 310 patients of the group have been studied. Relative decreased acid production of the stomach has been observed in Chernobyl accident fighters. Clinic and endoscope pictures of different signs of SERD have been noted in 88.1% of patients with erosive and ulcerous injuries of the upper parts of the gastrointestinal tract, and SERD in 100% of cases combines with other pathology of organs of the gastrointestinal tract. For this group ill the complex examination and consulting help in conditions specialized gastroenterology of centers is necessary.

RESUMEN

The condition was studied of the immune and nervous system in 72 miners who took part in the elimination of the aftermaths of the Chernobyl accident and in 30 miners of the control group. Ascertained in the miners-liquidators was the presence of imbalance of T-cells of the immune system and disorder of the humoral immunity. The patients displayed changes in the blood content of sodium, increased concentrations of iron, zink, and lead, and diminished amounts of cuprum. In this group pathology of the vegetative nervous system, vascular and vestibular abnormalities were found with high frequency. The findings secured attest to the need for taking account of particular features of disordered immunity, abnormalities of metabolism and nervous regulation in instituting a complex therapy in miners-liquidators.

RESUMEN

In a major proportion (67%) of those examined (persons with stage-II hypertensive disease who took part in the elimination of the aftermath of the Chernobyl breakdown) with the aid of echocardiography, hypertrophy of the left ventricular (LV myocardium was revealed as was augmentation of the mass of the LV myocardium together with decline in the contractile function, while in other examinees (33%) all above parameters showed no deviation from the norm. This permits predicting probability of cardial complications in such patient populations.

RESUMEN

A study in 84 patients with dust-induced bronchitis receiving combined drug treatment, hyperbaric oxygenation, hypobarotherapy and artificial speleotherapy indicates that the first place by its efficacy is occupied by artificial speleotherapy resulting in an improvement of the functional indices of the cardiopulmonary system. The second place is occupied by hypobaric regimen. Hyperbaric oxygenation was of low efficacy.

RESUMEN

Examination of 76 patients with pneumoconiosis (stage I) revealed that hyperbaric oxygenation is increasing the force of cardiac contractions, reduction of the general peripheral resistance and reduction of the lesser circulation hypertension. The therapeutic action of hyperbaric oxygenation is related to its ability to remove the sequels of oxygen.

RESUMEN

The authors studied the influence of mountain climate (altitude: 2200 m) on the course of chronic dust-induced bronchitis, pneumoconiosis and vibration disease in 45 patients. It was found that a 1-month stay of patients with dust-induced bronchitis and pneumoconiosis in the mountains results in a positive clinical effect is accompanied by amelioration of the external respiratory function, positive changes of the hemodynamic values. Mountain climate treatment was ineffective in vibration disease.

RESUMEN

Coefficients of heritability of lipid, carbohydrate and protein-nitrous blood metabolites were studied through comparison of mothers and their daughters at different age periods (6, 9, 12, 15, 18 months and the 1st lactation) and seasons. The highest and most statistically significant are heritability coefficients of triglycerides, phospholipids, cholesterin, total lipids; coefficients of acetic acid, 3-hydroxybutyric acid, acetone and acetylacetic acid and blood glucose are lower. The highest coefficients of heritability among protein-nitrous metabolites are those of globulins; coefficients of albumins, total protein, blood amino nitrogen are lower. Heritability coefficients of blood metabolites, except albumins, globulins and glucose are stable enough at different age periods. No pronounced season differences are observed. The presence of high and statistically significant heritability coefficients of a number of blood metabolites, their age and season stability indicate the possibility of using these metabolites as additional tests in selection of dairy cattle.
