RESUMEN

Objective: To report a case of congenital simple hamartoma of the retinal pigment epithelium (CSHRPE) with depigmentation at the margin. Method: Case report. Result: A 40-year-old Indian female was noted to have a small pigmented lesion with a depigmented margin toward the fovea in the right eye. The best-corrected vision was 6/6 in either eye. The optical coherence tomography revealed a highly reflective lesion at the retinal surface causing a shadow effect, suggestive of CSHRPE. Conclusion: Imaging features of a patient with CSHRPE with a crescent-like depigmented area at the margin are presented.

RESUMEN

The authors present a 20-year-old myopic male who showed golden color of fundus (Mizuo-Nakamura phenomenon) in light and normal color after long dark adaptation. This phenomenon is associated with an abnormally slow dark adaptation and is typically noted in Oguchi disease, a variant of congenital stationary night blindness.

RESUMEN

Ophthalmology, like any other clinical science, is constantly evolving. As our knowledge in this field expands, we enumerate and describe classical triads of symptoms or signs with relevance to ophthalmology in this article. Characteristic clinical triads for certain systemic conditions with ocular implications are also discussed.
