RESUMEN

25 males and 5 females suffering from chronic obstructive bronchitis (COB) underwent transcutaneous diaphragmatic electrostimulation (TDE). As shown by central intrapulmonary hemodynamics, those patients who had no circulatory decompensation benefited from TDE. There was a decrease in the pulmonary hypertension, intensification of general hemodynamics, reduced tonicity of the pulmonary arteriolar bed, improvement of right ventricular function. In circulatory decompensation TDE may cause deterioration of right ventricular function, enhancement of circulation decompensation against unchanged pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary-arteriolar tonicity. The changes in pulmonary artery pressure, total pulmonary vascular resistance, pulmonary-arteriolar elasticity observed after a single TDE session may prompt the validity of further COB treatment according to the above regimen.

RESUMEN

Central and organic hemodynamics were studied in extracorporeal UV irradiation of blood (EUVRB) conducted in patients with chronic nonspecific diseases of the lungs. Within the first postexposure day the majority of the hemodynamic parameters showed marked fluctuations. EUVRB brought about a persistent reduction in pulmonary-vascular resistance in bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive bronchitis patients. The latter also achieved a decline in pulmonary hypertension. A positive trend arose after EUVRB in red cell histo- and morphograms. Relevant hemodynamic EUVRB mechanisms are discussed.

RESUMEN

Central and intrapulmonary hemodynamic parameters were examined by direct and indirect methods in 46 patients with myocarditis (25 females and 21 males), which revealed diminished myocardial contractility, which was followed by a regular and significant pulmonary blood pressure and a reduction in the elastic properties of the pulmonary-arteriolar bed. Central and intrapulmonary hemodynamic changes are mostly associated with the development of hypodynamia and more rarely with that of the phase hemodynamic syndrome and more rarely with the volume overloading syndrome.

RESUMEN

Hemodynamic studies by direct and indirect methods in patients with myocarditis have revealed that as pulmonary hypertension developed, right-ventricular myocardial contractility and pulmonary arteriolar bed elasticity were decreasing. High pulmonary hypertension and structural shifts in pulmonary artery wall reduced the volumic potentialities of the lesser circulation. The antiorthostatic test was found an important test for the detection of compensatory deposition potentialities of the lesser circulation vessels in myocarditis patients.

RESUMEN

Central, cerebral, pulmonary and peripheral hemodynamics has been studied using impedance plethysmography in 36 terminally ill patients with pyogenic generalized peritonitis. It has been shown that direct dependence of changes in the cardiac output on its cerebral fraction, as well as impedance findings of brain and lung hydration may be considered as prognostically unfavourable. The onset of hypoperfusion of the vital organs which accompanies peripheral vasodilation and decreased hemodynamic activity is associated with unfavourable vital prognosis.

RESUMEN

Radiocardiography and rheography of the pulmonary artery were used to examine impairments in hemodynamics and contractile function of the right ventricle in 40 patients with chronic obstructive bronchitis complicated with persistent hypertension. Right ventricular hemodynamic and contractile impairments were shown to be not equivalent with similar clinical and functional signs of pulmonary hypertension. This fact indicates that the use of special techniques is of practical value in the determination of right ventricular hemodynamics and myocardial contractility in patients with chronic obstructive bronchitis. Radiocardiography and rheography of the pulmonary artery are sufficiently reliable noninvasive techniques for examining the hemodynamics and contractile function of the right ventricular myocardium.

RESUMEN

The paper is concerned with the development of quantitative determination by thermodilution of cardiac output and abnormal arteriovenous blood shunt in patients with congenital heart diseases. A method for graphic analysis of the curves on the basis of revealed standard ratios of the descending part heights is proposed. It allows one to obtain the values of left-right shunts similar to those attainable by the method of Fick.
