RESUMEN

The production of graphene from cost-effective and readily available sources remains a significant challenge in materials science. This study investigates the potential of common pencil leads as precursors for graphene synthesis using the Flash Joule Heating (FJH) process. We examined 6H, 4B, and 14B pencil grades, representing different graphite-to-clay ratios, under varying voltages (0 V, 200 V, and 400 V) to elucidate the relationships among initial composition, applied voltage, and resulting graphene quality. Samples were characterized using Raman spectroscopy, electrical resistance measurements, and microscopic analysis. The results revealed grade-specific responses to applied voltages, with all samples showing decreased electrical resistance post-FJH treatment. Raman spectroscopy indicated significant structural changes, particularly in ID/IG and I2D/IG ratios, providing insights into defect density and layer stacking. Notably, the 14B pencil lead exhibited unique behavior at 400 V, with a decrease in the ID/IG ratio from 0.135 to 0.031 and an increase in crystallite size from 143 nm to 612 nm, suggesting potential in situ annealing effects. In contrast, harder grades (6H and 4B) showed increased defect density at higher voltages. This research contributes to the development of more efficient and environmentally friendly methods for graphene production, potentially opening new avenues for sustainable and scalable synthesis.

RESUMEN

Hemoglobin (Hb), a protein found within red blood cells, is responsible for transporting oxygen and carbon dioxide gasses. A low concentration of Hb indicates the existence of anemia. Traditional invasive Hb examination methods are accurate but have drawbacks, such as pain. A new approach, non-invasive photoplethysmography (PPG), addresses these issues and allows real-time Hb examination. In this article, the dataset consists of PPG signal, gender, age, and Hb value. The PPG signal was measured by a MAX30102 module sensor that emitted two types of light (red and infra-red light) and measured using a photodetector. Total of 68 subjects (56% female and 44% male) within the age of 18-65 years were collected. The total dataset is 816 data from 68 subjects, which each subject provides 12 sets of red and infra-red light signals. The data were collected at Primary Health Center Jatiuwung, Tangerang City, Banten 15,138, Indonesia. Researchers interested in anemia monitoring and those pursuing the development of non-invasive hemoglobin measurement based on machine learning can leverage this dataset.

RESUMEN

This study compared the scale of infant pain during vaccinated injection using conductance skin electric (Skin Conductance), the Wong-Baker Faces Scale (WBFS) instrument, and Face Leg Activity Cry and Consolability (FLACC) instruments. It was observational cohort study with pre-experimental design using vaccinated injection as pain stimuli. This study investigated 121 infants (59 boys, 62 girls), age/PNA 4.37 ± 2.97 months, and current body weight 6522 ± 1378.65 grams). Most infants had adequate birth weight 71 (89.9%) about 2985.74 ± 405.83 kg and mature infants as 67 (84.4%), about 38,52 ± 2,09 weeks. Pain measurement of all three instruments was do simultaneously using a developed Skin Conductance (SC) apparatus and video recording (to assess behaviour and face). WBFS, FLACC and SC have the same significance in measuring infants' pain scale during vaccination injection. Statistical analysis showed a significant difference in the three pain measurement instruments between before and during injection with a p value of <0.001. So that SC can be recommended for pain measurement.

RESUMEN

COVENT-Tester (COVID-19 VENTilator Tester) is a low-cost and open source ventilator tester developed to calibrate the output of medical ventilators, including tidal volume, inspiratory pressure, and oxygen concentration. Currently, there are several open-source ventilator testers, however, existing open-source ventilator testers are unable to measure oxygen concentration. Conversely, commercial ventilator testers with the capacity to measure tidal volume, inspiratory pressure, and oxygen concentration, are very costly. The COVENT-Tester was therefore designed to be low-cost, by using Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) components, to assist the open source community for rapidly manufactured pandemic ventilators. In addition, the COVENT-Tester measurement's validation results show the tester has good accuracy.

RESUMEN

In this COVID-19 pandemic, a non-contact handheld infrared thermometer is frequently used for fever screening. However, the handheld thermometer performance depends on the operator and the distance to the forehead. To address these problems, we present an infrared thermometer on the wall (iThermowall). The iThermowall is a low-cost non-contact thermometer, adapted for the use of fever screening in public areas without an operator. The hardware can measure human body temperature automatically when the distance between the sensor and forehead is adequate. Temperature measurement validation of the iThermowall was conducted by T-test analysis. The results show that the P-values for all the test is more significant than 0.05, means that the mean Celsius temperature for both groups (reference thermometer and iThermowall) are similar. This article provides the 3-D printable open-source and the full source code firmware for the developing and under-resourced communities.
