RESUMEN

Dietary intake, physical development and some indicator of health status of schoolchildren of Novosybkov (2th zone of strict control) and Vyshkov (3th zone) were studied. Energy and macronutrient intakes for schoolchildren can be considered adequate. Dietary intake intake of vitamins A, E, beta-carotene and especially C, and calcium were rather low. Low intakes of vitamin and calcium are results from low dietary consumption of milk and diary products, fruits and vegetables Physical development of Novosybkov's children is considered adequate and do not differ from that of Moscow's schoolchildren. The frequency of obese schoolchildren was seen in Novosybkov's children in comparison with Moscow's ones. On the contrary, among rural Vyshkov's children the high frequency of children with deficit of body mass was examined. The number of children relating to 2 or 3 groups of health was higher in Novosybkov than in Moscow. The data about higher prevalence of child morbidity were supported. One of risk factors of decreasing of children body toleration to low level of radiation are low level of vitamin intake and other defects of health nutrition.

RESUMEN

Analysis of many-year people vitaminization with thiamine showed that middle values of the TDP-effect were not always decreased down to the level of < or = 1.15. The TDP-effect not exceeding 1.25 value should be recommended as a criterion of normal vitamin B1 consumption as followed from mathematical analysis of the correlation between excretion of thiamine with urine and the TDP-effect value as well as from plotting and mathematical interpretation of the variation curves involving distribution of the TDP-effect value among people with additional vitaminization. The literature available data equal to 1.15 appears to exhibit the optimum rate of the vitamin consumption. Excretion of thiamine with urine more than 12 mg/h should be also considered as a normal consumption of vitamin B1 in children of 12 years old and older and in adults. The criteria of vitamin B2 consumption in children of this age were similar to corresponding patterns of adults: minimal concentration of riboflavin in blood plasma was about 6 ng/ml and its excretion with urine--about 14 mg/h.

RESUMEN

The influence of prophylactic vitamin administration to schoolchildren in Moscow was studied basing on the parameters of their providing with vitamins, physical development and health. It was established that as a result of prophylactic vitamin administration of "Undevitum" during 6 months the morbidity rate (especially, of acute respiratory diseases) decreased that produced a definite economic effect. The prophylactic vitamin administration to schoolchildren in the winter-spring period has been recommended.

RESUMEN

A clinically unclear case is described of stomatitis with a long duration in a male of 28. Exfoliations in the region of the mouth angle were observed resembling pemphigus vegetans. Biopsy examination revealed a thick plasma cell infiltration which was considered to be an extramedullary plasmacytoma. However, a polyclonal composition of plasmacytes was found immunomorphologically producing immunoglobulins A, M and G with predominant production of IgG. This allowed rejection of neoplastic nature of the infiltrate, confirming its inflammatory origin and specific character. Serological tests (Wassermann, immunofluorescence test, in vitro immobilization test) confirmed the diagnosis of secondary recurring syphilis. Differential diagnosis of plasma-cell syphilid of skin and mucosal extramedullary plasmacytoma is under discussion.

RESUMEN

Clinical trials of the gene engineered human alpha 2-interferon as ointment were performed. The ointment was used in the treatment of patients with relapsing herpes of various localization, relapsing aphthous stomatitis and pemphigus vulgaris. It was shown that the ointment was harmless and its therapeutic effect was favourable. The preparation is recommended for introduction into the practice of public health.

RESUMEN

Sixteen patients with typical and 17 with erosive ulcerative forms of lichen ruber planus were examined for the T- and B-immunity systems, myeloid series cells, complementary and spontaneous rosette-forming populations. B-lymphocyte levels were found elevated twofold in both groups of patients as against normal subjects. Patients with typical lichen planus developed a statistically significant elevation of T-lymphocyte count vs. normal subjects, whereas in patients with erosive ulcerative lichen planus this count was virtually unchanged. Reduced counts of active T-cells were detected in all the patients. The parameters of spontaneous and complementary rosette formation of neutrophils were different in the two groups of patients and in normal subjects. The counts of EAC-receptor carrying neutrophils were two times lower in the patients with erosive ulcerative lichen planus as against those with the typical form of the disease. Clinical manifestations correlated with changes in cell-mediated immunity factors; a marked defect of the neutrophilic receptor system has been detected, particularly manifest in erosive ulcerative lichen planus.

RESUMEN

Immunomorphologic examinations of 23 biopsy specimens of the buccal mucosa of patients with lichen ruber planus have revealed changes that confirm the hypothesis on the autoimmune nature of this disease. The basic cause of clinical manifestation of lichen planus is disordered microcirculatory system of the buccal mucosa, resultant from deposition of the immune complexes and fibrin in the vessel walls and lumen.

RESUMEN

The authors review the literature data on the frequency of the nail plate involvement in lichen ruber planus and on the clinical features of this condition. Four patients suffering from lichen ruber planus with various manifestations of the nail plate involvement are described. The therapy efficacy depends on the severity of inflammation in the matrix unguis.

RESUMEN

Analysis of 650 case histories with the erosive ulcerative lichen ruber planus has revealed the specific features of the course of this condition: subjects aged 40-70 (90.5%) women more often than men (64%), suffer from this disease. Solitary foci (in 84%) are usually localized on the buccal mucosa. Concomitant diseases are very often: gastrointestinal conditions in 51% of patients, dental abnormalities in 34%. The disease should be differentiated from erosive leukoplakia, exfoliative cheilitis, etc. Tigason therapy has been found the most effective for this condition.
